41  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 67 Gallery on: March 05, 2011 10:55:45 AM
I received from babalina today and it is super awesome! It's an ironing mat that I had requested for my new craft room, and I can tell she was very thoughtful when choosing the pattern/colors, which I appreciate. The colors are fabulous!

And here is a close up to show her mad skillz....the detailing on the stitching there is super cute and made me smile...

Since I picked up package right after checking on the new condo (with the new craft room) that was supposed to be done end of January, it was a nice pick me up, since the place still looks like this .

Thanks again!

Those are so pretty! Very delicate. So where did our lovely BabyCakes go? I've been looking forward to the march granny-a-day.  Smiley

Yes - I wanted to cheat and do my end of feb stuff in the March thread  Wink

Well, it's sort of a granny...and there are ten squares to make for the top!  I can crochet the dress part while getting on with more grannies for a new blanket in March:

Those are very pretty and delicate...nice! Very summery. And I don't think we are totally only allowed grannys...I thought it said motifs too...otherwise I am in trouble, eep!

My blanket so far.  It's just a giant granny square, right now it is about 21" x 21".  It is for project linus!

Nice work - very cheerful (which is great for the charity! Smiley)

I cannot even tell you how simultaneously cool, yet disturbing, this is. Awesome!!

45  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: I Want to Work for an Evil Corp. Swap (SIGNUP 2/23/11-3/16/11 ; MAIL BY 4/27/11) on: February 23, 2011 09:13:08 PM
This is looking ppppreeeetttyyy hilariously fun, so once I finish my item for current swaps, I will sign up. Just don't want to overload myself. My evil corporation must take utmost care in personally crafting the evilest of crafts for swaps and thus can not divert itself from its main target until the swap  is COMPLETELY DESTROYED.

MUAHAHAHHAHA!
46  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Wish Swap 67 NOW OPEN FOR CLAIMS on: February 23, 2011 07:24:32 PM
I claim missmoppet for tshirt/hoodies in a nerdly or BBT theme.

1st claim (eXcItInG!) with 0 sent and 0 recieved.

Hi! I live in Houston, TX with my partner in crime and our herd of cat minions (no kids). I work for a local healthcare non-profit and am very open minded. About to move into a new condo with my very own craft room and lovely craftster-made things would make the new place feel like home! I am a fairly chill, laid back and nerdy person.

Vitals - I have asthma, so things that are smokey or strong floral scents do me in. Pets are fine though. Wist: http://www.wists.com/zatanna

Themes - Nerdy, spooky, kitschy, mod, rainy day. I love comics (Catwoman is my all time fave), cats, craftiness, coffee, tea, Halloween, Harry Potter-world, old-timey occult/magic themes, reading and tv perusing. I have a lot on my Craftster profile.

Colors/patterns - I tend to prefer black/white/grey and bold/bright colors over pastels or neutral for my own personal stuffs. I put fabrics on my wist bc patterns are too hard to explain! My new craft room will be grey with aqua and yellow. Hoorays! Almost my entire wardrobe is black with some bright colors, and for metallics, I prefer silver toned over gold toned.

Crafts

Bags - I would really love a bag that is the size of a purse (smallish) but with a long strap that I can wear across my chest. Or just a regular purse-style bag since I have a lot of totes.
Necklaces - I am completely open to any craft medium for necklaces. Style wise, I prefer non-choker. What I tend to wear most often are large and/or chunky pieces...I tend to wear just one large piece often.
Earrings - Same as the necklace schtick, except I prefer dangly to post.
Reusable snack/sandwich bags - My guilt at my ziploc/tin foil usage is killing me!
Lunch bag - I am sick of my insulated one because it's big and inflexible, and sick of the one I made because it has no lining, so I would love a lunch sack that is zippered and lined with something plasticy, but also squishable!
Granny's daughters/squares/motifs - I am open to any fiber type, but may prefer acrylic for blanket making (RH is fine, I am no yarn snob hah). Would prefer square shape motifs so I can stick them in the scrap blanket I am working on.
Bath/body stuff - I esp. would love lip balms, lotions, or body wash items. I tend to shower over baths, so bath bombs and bar soaps are less likely to be used.
Sewing machine cover - Can pm dimensions
Cricut expression cover - Does not need to be fancy, just want to keep the cat hair off.
Ironing mat - For my craft room!
Slippers - Any medium or color is fine, size 10-11 women.
Hat  - I wanted another cloche hat in a dark color - the brimmed ones are my fave!
Pillows - My new craft room will need some pillows (see above for theme etc)
Wist - Something off my wist - it's uptodate! http://www.wists.com/zatanna

Supplies

Frames/hoops - For small needlework projects.
Fabric - Wists/themes above are general indicators of what I like - Colors I could use in my craft room would be a plus.
Cricut crap- 12x12 or 12x24 mats, blades, deep blade housing etc.
Adhesive vinyl - Any color, for use with said cricut
Needle felting supplies - Always wanted to try this!
Some sort of cooking project type kit - My bf would <3 you as I kinda suck at cooking
Bath/body crafting supplies - Another craft I have wanted to try
Jewerly bits - charms, findings, ring bases, stones, beads etc. Just learning how to do this, so I really don't have a lot of supplies.
Safety eyes
Interfacing - Any kind
Magnets - I have the sheet magnet tape, but need the stronger glue on type
Transfer paper
Transfer pen thingie
Aida 14 ct  - Black or other color (I have a lot of white/ivory/cream)

Extras: Teas, coffees, mini bits and bobs, cat toys, yarn/fabric scraps

Thanks for choosing me and I will try to make my list prettier next time!!!  Cheesy

I really like that block....I hadn't really thought to do something patterns quite like that, very neato.

Mine are a lot less fab, but I figure I better just keep cranking them out and use up yarn.

48  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Death the Kid and Tinkerbell on: February 20, 2011 06:49:56 PM
Nice job - very cute! I really do love the general overall visual design element of Soul Eater...it's totally Halloween-town. I am sure your friend loved it!
49  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: ACTIVE: FEBRUARY GRANNY-A-DAY STARTS NOW! on: February 19, 2011 08:35:02 AM
Lol, I'm glad I'm not the only one looking for updates! Since Ive started my new job all Ive had time for is coming home, eating supper and passing out! I think Ive made 4 more squares since my first picture. This is going to be a tough month, but I'm hoping I'll be able to make up the days Ive missed on the weekends...good luck guys!

This is supposed to be relaxing, too, so rest and don't stress yourself too much! I'll make an extra square in your honor hah!  Tongue

I love how the colors blended together and it looks soooo comfy! How many different shades of yarn did you end up using to get that look?
