21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ga Ga for Grannies Granny Square Swap (Sign ups: 4/18 - 5/3, Send outs: 5/30/11) on: May 14, 2011 10:43:54 AM
Hope everyone is having fun hookin' it up! I was wondering if I could get a clarification on the send date. I thought there was an extension on it b/c of pairings, but I am not sure if that is reflected in the info or not. Just want to make sure I have the right date on my calendar.

If it is actually the 30th, is there any chance it could be moved to the 31st? The 30th (Mon) is memorial day and the post offices are closed in the U.S. so that could be tricky!

I am going assembly line style and cranking out granny's daughters to start with.

On a side, I had to  Shocked Caron. I was looking at pattern and I have a caron booklet 'Grannys Gone Wild' so I was like hey, let me look for some stuff for this swap. The  Shocked came in when I saw the pattern for 'Granny on the Corner'. Granted, it featured a pattern where the square is centered on a corner but still...in a book called 'Grannies Gone Wild'...'Granny on the Corner'....didn't their editors look at that one twice?!? Haha.

Hi ladies Smiley  Now the only person's info I need is kbau.  In the meantime, I'm working happily on my squares.  I have one person's set done and another's halfway there.

Don't worry about anything BabyCakes, I know organizing is a huge job and you're doing great Smiley

I just sent it to you since we are all in the same group.  Grin

Can I ask for the reception hall of my wedding to be decorated?  its a room, technically.  lol

Doesn't seem too unreasonable, esp. since so many 'crafty' wedding pieces seem to end up at guests' houses anyhow. My sister's certainly did hah.

Apparently just don't make pink squares and everything will be cool!  Tongue

Considering this one...my craft room is sad and empty.  Cry

Just curious, are most of the group planning to do like classic granny squares? I'm totally good with that,  I just don't want to do some weird variation and have everyone else send classics lol

I put 'yes' for the non-granny squares, as long as it was a square so I can get it into a blanket. I figure as long as they are same sizeish I should be able to make some frankenstein's monster awesome blanket!  Tongue

All the squares I am working on for my current projects are pretty solid double crochet squares which are nice fillers but not that exciting, so some fun squares interspersed would jazz them up some.

knitted squares can be crocheted around and then joined as usual with other blocks...=]

hope that helps some...

That makes sense...hadn't thought of it that way. Thanks!

I said no swaps until the move was done AND I had my craft room unpacked...which I did, YAY!  Cheesy

I did have a question before I did my sign up. Did anyone really specify the ease with which knitted squares can be joined? I am by no means an expert, so if it's tricky I may want to avoid it, but I also don't want to just say no to knit if it's really not that hard.
