41  Re: Zippered Pouch Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by zatanna on: May 22, 2008 12:39:46 PM
hi all!

I got my package today from the awesome ccswch! I really loved it. The pouch is actually really perfect for carrying around in my bag, since I can put my coins on one side and my cards/paper money on the other. She also sent a pouch that she did not make but that suits my tastes (which I love, have plans for that for my gaming tokens!) and a really pretty bracelet which I already sported out and about!

Thanks again, ccswch!  Cheesy

42  Metalocalypse Murderface Needlebook in Completed Projects by zatanna on: May 07, 2008 01:08:39 PM
My fabulous partner Ghilie had mentioned she wanted a needlebook in the Adult Swim swap, so I had to oblige with the most brutal needlebook ever, Murder Needles! I decided to post it up as a separate project, as that was the first thing I had really made large-scale with felt and it was learning how to make a new thing, so I was happy with how it turned out.

I did Murderface's murder-face and murder-fro in felt, and then made a tiny freezer paper stencil for the facial details. I stenciled the text on the felt, and then sandwiched some cardboard on either side and steam-a-seamed it all together. This was sadly before I had any of the web stuff and I did it all with the 1/4 inch stuff, hopefully it will survive! I then just put a skull bead on a photoclip and attached it to close, just to give it a more 'metal' vibe.

43  Re: COASTERS anyone sign up 03/26-04/10 Ship by 04/30 in The Swap Gallery by zatanna on: May 02, 2008 01:03:41 PM
Hi all!

I received my package from lllaren today, and it is way too cute!

First and foremost, the coasters! She made these totally awesome crocheted kitty coasters, because of my beloved brood of cats.  They may just be too nice to be abused by my dirty friends, so I may just put them on the wall or something, we will see!

I am not sure which I like best, but it may be the pirate kitty hehehe!

She also sent me a tiny little crocheted mouse to go along with the theme! Here he is getting kitty love from Runty..

And here he is getting the kitty back-kick of DOOM from Fatty!

Thanks again, lllaren. Everyone give her a big 'woo!' for being such an excellent first time swapper!  Cheesy

I was uploading pix from my camera and forgot I had taken more close ups of the awesome hat I received so show that ghilie's embroidery does indeed not suck! So here it is!

I got my package from Ghilie today and it was/is awesome!  Cheesy My camera isn't uber best so it doesn't do justice to all the brutal awesomeosity contained within the box, but I will try!

I am quite honored to have one of these, as it was a popular project once posted...my own tittyfish! And it is copulating with lipbalm! My tittyfish is also modeling my snazzy Pickles bottlecap pin (Go WI!). Gingers have to stick together!

Ghilie said she didn't know what the practical purpose of a super cool Uncle Ruckus would be, but I find the practical purpose is to CONFOUND MY CAT. (and weirdly, we both did a craft involving wack ass Uncle Ruckus eyes, although hers is woo and mine is a minor one....those eyes just made me laugh when I saw them!).

So in case some day I disappear mysteriously, this is for the record in that I think ghilie is a crazy stalker that broke into my house, because I don't know how else she matched these potholders so perfectly to my kitchen decor ...

And the piece de la resistance, or however it's spelled....the MEATWAD HAT! I tried to action shot it, which probably does not do it justice, but I needed a kicky action shot! The hat is SO *&^*&(^^ CUTE!

I also had sorely needed chocolates to deal with my tax-n-pms issues, therefore, ghilie is my hero and BEST ORGANIZER EVAR.

46  Felt Octopus Wall Plate in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by zatanna on: March 28, 2008 07:09:53 PM
My bathroom has nothing on the wall yet, so I wanted to toss something up there. I had bought a dinner plate for cheap from Target and I had some felt, so I figured I could do something with them! It's all felt except the button eyes. I just cut out all of the shapes in felt and glued them on so parts were still a bit loose to bend out some to make it more 3-D-ish.

47  Superman and Black Adam Bag in Stenciling: Completed Projects by zatanna on: March 27, 2008 12:55:46 PM
My bf had recieved a free bag from a job, that was very sturdy, nice color, but had had company logos on one side. Since he used this to tote his Heroclix gaming stuff around, I decided to spiff it up with a Superman freezer stencil that I believe was originally meant for pumpkin carving.

On the side with the logos I decided to represent his other fave character, Black Adam, and do his black background with the gold lightning bolt. Unfortunately it's harder to cover it with just paint than you would think. Still, it turned out alright, and was a good way to make a promo bag more fun.

48  Token bags for Magic the Gathering and Heroclix in Stenciling: Completed Projects by zatanna on: March 14, 2008 01:47:58 PM
For Christmas I was trying to think of a smaller gift for the various people that I do gaming stuff with, and I came up with these bags. I just bought the plain canvas bags from Hobby Lobby and used freezer paper to cut out stencils and did designs on the front and back. I did favorite color mana symbols for the Magic players and fave chars for the Clixors, and then stuffed them all with matching color '1/2 marbles' from Hobby Lobby for the tokens, and dice. It was an inexpensive project that was fun to do and easy to personalize for each gamer! I did 10 in total and it didn't take very long at all. The longest part was cutting them. I used metallic paint because it tends to bleed less on me. It doesn't show as well here, but it's a bronze that looks very nice on the natural canvas color. This project would be even cheaper if you could make your own bags, although the ones I bought were only $1-$1.50.

Iron Man front (used with permission from a very cool stencil by http://d-pepper.deviantart.com/) and the back of Capt. Boomerang.

Back of Iron Man (we make fun of Iron Man's drunkenness to my friend ha) and front of Captain America.

Black and White mana symbols...

Back of Black and White mana symbols..my friend likes b/w so I put a grim reaper on the back of his white mana bag, and my other friend likes faerie decks, so I popped on on the back of his.

A Sliver bag for one guy (slivers are a monster type in Magic) and flame for the red mana bag (red mana symbol is fire).

50  Re: TRIPLE KITTY SWAP Gallery in The Swap Gallery by zatanna on: March 06, 2008 10:18:16 PM
I got my stuff from Bronzfrog today and it all R*O*C*K*S, so on with the pictures!

There was quite a fight over this, but it's a super comfy kitty bed that is even big enough for the fat Pumby, as modeled here:

And then something that I totally have coveted when I have them on here, a needle bag thingie! The way it's worked is really nice and th pictures don't do it justice, esp. the contrasting polka dots!

And then, what is this...a cat?!?! I already have too many!!

Ok wait, it's just Fatty in my new awesome bag!

And Mia expressing how I feel about it all with her new cat friend that matches her:

Bronzfrog really sent me nice stuffs, and I feel like my stuff was assy in comparison, so give Bronzfrog some props for having to deal with me. My bf proclaimed the stuff I sent as garbage in comparison Cry. Doh! Now that I have some swap legs maybe I can improve for next time! Smiley
