Reserved - I am dumb and didn't get how we are doing it.
Thankfully, Plucky and I think alike, as I also thought to open day 1 first and that was the one she meant heh.
It's a cute skellanimals grocery tote bag from Target! I love those cute little beasties but had a hard time justifying getting some of the items, so I totally love it! Plus I can use this to tote magic cards in since it's so sturdy - thanks!!
It's a mini-snowglobe!
It's mice and catnip for the kitties!
An assortment of candies!
A votive and candle....the candle is very autumn yummy!
Magnets...the bat is my fave!
Door hanger (sorry for the poor picture, very tired and took quick phone pix!).
I received from the fabulous Avesthel today, yay! She sent me very awesome Harry Potter themed coasters. The hp fabric is a really cool midnight blue with silver glitter, so they are all mysterious and dark looking.
I really love them, as I am getting psyched for HP:HBP coming out soon and I also have destroyed my work coasters and needed stylin' new ones.
Hooray for some down time, now I can get up more detailed pictures as promised!
First, we have an item for my rampaging kitties, a mini-house scarf, and a beautiful ravenclaw necklace. The mouse is so perfectly made. The light is reflecting a bit in the pic, but the necklace is silvered color and the dangley is a pearl material.
Next we have a Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder sleep mask and super cool Unbreakable Vow gloves. The red is stitched on the gloves with perfecto stitches.
Next, Olivander has branched out into wand acessories with this magic wand case heh! It's for my crochet hooks and I just love it...my other case is a bit bulky, and this one is a perfect size to stash in my bag. Plus it's pretty snazzy looking!
I think this last one is my favorite...it's a Ravenclaw spellbook book safe/drawer. The drawer part on the left is the spine of the book and slips right into the main compartment. The label on it is 'Book of Spells'. It's varnished to look older and has the Ravenclaw crest. It's awesome and I think I am going to take it to work!
Thanks again, LaundryBunny, I really adore my items and thanks for being my partner!
I received from LaundryBunny yesterday. I am in my super busy wed-sat mode, but I wanted to get a least one picture up. Of course it does no justice, as it is a super great package that I love, but it's a taste! I will get individual pictures and all the juicy details up as soon as I can grab a moment, but for now...
Sorry I didn't get the pix up of what I made for Myklia until today, but I have literally been gone the last 3 days except for sleeping (woo Saturday WOO!).
Not the best pic in all of eternity as I was taking it quick in process of measuring, but you can get the drift! I tried to make a variety of kinds/colors for her curtain she was going to do, and she was open to some other yarns than acrylic, so I went for it! I am glad you liked it. I am really new to crochet so I am not 100% skillful...but I did learn a lot during this swap.
As for Zuliblu's motifs, I did them all with Lily Sugar 'n Cream 100% cotton yarn. She was wanting to make a dress, so I asked if she would want cotton instead and she oked it, so I went and got it! I am glad the colors were ok, because I was a small bit worried they were too light, but the darker ones they had were a little to veering to neon which was a no-no!
I received from the fab zuliblu! The motifs are super fabulous...I think she did an amazing job of capturing my tastes!
First, we have the purples/blacks:
I think my faves are the solid red one, because it's so pretty and intricate, and I also like the stars because they are just so neat and tidy (esp. in comparison to the one I made for someone else). I am jealous of her mad crocheting skills! I think I am going to incorporate these into either a bag or a scarf, because I think they meld together really well. I love bags, so it might go that way heh.
It does make me laugh to think of the ones I sent her, because literally, they are like night and day with the colors and stuff. I hope she (and Myklia) like theirs, as they went out today! Thanks again, zuliblu, I love them!
I received from Myklia, hoorays! They are very lovely and a great mix of colours and textures. She obviously put a lot of care into them!
In the first pic we have a pretty red flower that is seriously big. I am thinking of using it as a 'doily' for a funky bowl. There is also a super-light maybe mohair (?) triangle motif that is gorgeous!
In the second picture we have a fluffy, purple circular motif that I am thinking of also using in a 'doily' fashion, but I think I am going to bring it for my desk at work. The two smaller (cotton thread maybe?) motifs are really bright and pretty and mesh really well together, so I think I am going to sew them onto a blank canvas bag I have so I can tote around crochet things in it!
Not pictured is a wee wool (?) grey circle that the cats have somehow made off with while I was at work. It is about and inch or two across, so I am sure they found it perfect for carrying around in their teeth and hauled it under the bed or something!
Thanks again, I love them! I am the last dang person to send, but I have tomorrow off, so I have ALL DAY *whew*. Love my new job but it's exhausting me...three day weekend sounds like heaven right now!
I received from the awesome thelastkodama, hooray! She sent me a fabulous box featuring a ....kodama from Mononoke-hime, heh. Off my wists, but still, very funny! He is so cute and is made of a pretty, swirly fabric and then the kodama is also fabric.
Unfortunately my camera is bad at getting pics of little things, but she stuffed the box full of lots of tiny little things...where do you people get this stuff? I guess I just suck at finding tiny things, because thelastkodama is making my box look like nothing in comparison. My fave items were the teeny-tiny little mouse at the top of the pic, followed closely by the wee origami crane and the beautiful bits of oragami paper.
Ok, it is done and off, for better or for worse. I simply ran out of time to make it as big as I wanted. My hands and wrists just started killing me after I stayed up til 4am the other night to finish it and I knew I would not be able to do any more in the morning before I had to send it, so I just did the border and called it a day.
I think she will still like it. It ended up being 28x28, which is a little on the small size, but hey, it's the thought that counts!
