Sadly, I am now one of 'those' people that post pictures late - my apologies!

My box from banana was amazing! First, the amazing chest for the treasures...

Completely painted...I am so envious of people that can freehand as such!

And the treasure within!!!

Dragon eggs! How cool is that? They are all painted to match the ones from the show, and nestled in pretty floaty fabrics.

But wait! There is more!!

Pretty amazing! The top row are magnets, and the bottom the matching necklaces. One necklace not pictured because I was wearing it hehe! The pictures really do not do them justice...the layering of the glaze/resin on top of the pictures gives them amazing depth and makes everything really 'pop'. I think my fave is the Stark crest one (with Ghost!) because it is super shimmery and the the snowflake adds a cute touch (sorry the 'winter is coming' tag got flipped in the pic!).

One more for a close up!

A seriously fabulous package from a very talented crafter - thank you again (and sorry for posting pix late! I suck!!!).

The colors are amazing and everything is so precise. I am in awe! I think my fave is the aqua with with the thin yellow stripes...something is hypnotizing about it!

Next - Koreena

Way to go first time swapper! They are all super neat and tidy and they will go really well with some projects I want to do. I think my fave are medallion ones because they are pretty and perfect.

I love these bc the colors totally POP and they are soft and snuggley! The spiral one is just amazing to me...so cool!

Thanks again, ladies! Smiley

5  Re: ACTIVE: GRANNY-A-DAY MARCH STARTS NOW! in Crochetalongs by zatanna on: March 31, 2011 07:04:20 PM
This, sadly, is all I got done for the month. But not too bad since I am in the midsts of renovating the new condo and moving in! Funny enough, I love doing the centers more than the outsides...we should swap haha!  Tongue

I received from babalina today and it is super awesome! It's an ironing mat that I had requested for my new craft room, and I can tell she was very thoughtful when choosing the pattern/colors, which I appreciate. The colors are fabulous!

And here is a close up to show her mad skillz....the detailing on the stitching there is super cute and made me smile...

Since I picked up package right after checking on the new condo (with the new craft room) that was supposed to be done end of January, it was a nice pick me up, since the place still looks like this .

Thanks again!

7  Re: ACTIVE: FEBRUARY GRANNY-A-DAY STARTS NOW! in Crochetalongs by zatanna on: February 21, 2011 07:34:15 PM
I really like that block....I hadn't really thought to do something patterns quite like that, very neato.

Mine are a lot less fab, but I figure I better just keep cranking them out and use up yarn.

So I needed a day to recover from the night out. :p

Here is my package!

I have a card in the back, some snacks, a magnet, and an altoid tin featuring Simpsons-style Mulder.

And when you open it, and this cracked me up, there is the awesome bikini-Simpsons style Mulder along with some mini-sewing tools.

You indeed delivered some Mulder in a box...thanks, Goddessgarb!

I got some progress done. Decided to use up a remainder of some random unknown acrylic I got in an ebay lot and I don't know if I just flaked  and added some extra stitches on the granny square or if the yarn is funky, but it is super duper ruffley. Not sure what I am going to do with those two..maybe a purse or add some rows to cover a pillow in hopes of it being stretched? Hah. The other are two are 5 row double crochet squares from 201 Crochet Motifs in RH Buff and Aspen Print.

10  Crochet Star and Snowdudes Ornaments in Winter Holidays by zatanna on: December 24, 2010 09:18:02 AM
I turned myself into a crocheting machine the last week and finished a large amount of ornaments for co-workers and family members. These star ones in basic cotton, are from a free pattern from Caron and were super easy - just 4 rounds. I cranked out the middle of the motif (first three rds) and then finished them off on the bus commute. For such simple items, they were very well received and peeps loved them - I liked the idea for work, because the shape is generic enough for any religion or lack thereof, and could be used outside of Christmas if someone didn't celebrate it.

The Caron pattern: http://www.caron.com/projects/ss/star_ornament.html

I did the rainbow ones for the lesbian contingent at work. They were happy to get a pride-themed item that was both Christmas-y and subtle, plus able to be used outside of tree decorating.

I also did these snowmen - just a basic white circle, glued on a felt nose, fabric paint for eyes/mouth, and then just did different circle-based motifs for the background (glue the face on).
