I always check out the Challenges, but this is the first one I've entered!



This is a machine embroidery piece I made, based on an original photo. I put the fabric in an embroidery hoop, took the presser foot off my machine, and started coloring with thread! I started out with the darker colors for shadow, especially in the tree, and then added the lighter colors over top. The clouds were the biggest challenge - figuring out how to make different textures with the same tools. In the end, the project took about 30 hours. It's now the front page in my theater portfolio.



I took this picture while I was living in Ohio for the summer of 2005, working at Tecumseh! Outdoor Drama in Chillicothe. The cast got to have a picnic in this beautiful field by a lake, and I took this picture because I was just so impressed with the natural beauty of the area.

I absolutely love this necklace! I was checking out your etsy, and was wondering if you would be willing to make some similar necklaces with other pennies (US, buffalo, wheat pennies) if they're sent to you.

Holy crap, your kid is awesome! And you're a pretty cool mom for letting him explore this without freaking out about it. I would totally buy his stuff for rendezvous... but make sure he gets a competetive price for his work. It's as good as any adult's.

Make sure to neutralize your bleach with vinegar, though... otherwise, the bleach will keep right on bleaching and eat holes in your jeans. I'd hate to see such awesomeness spoiled!

The Threadbangers have an episode on this, where they make a little hat and some mittens out of the middle part of the sweater. But I think your legwarmers are better. Very cute.
