21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Leg warmers with heel holes? on: November 18, 2004 09:23:30 PM
I want to make myself a pair of leg warmers that will be used for actual dancing.  This means I would like them to have heel holes in them.  I'm still new to knitting.  Do you think this would be too difficult for me?  I figure you could just make really large button holes but that would mean the seam would be in the front or side... Solutions or suggestions anyone???

22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I Dare Ya! on: November 18, 2004 07:33:42 PM
Okay... I just came accross this cardigan...  It is so far beyond my skill level, as I just started learning how to knit, but I am so in love with it I am willing to live vicariously through someone else's knitting skills.

So... I dare you, any of you, to attempt this cardigan!

One look and I'm sure you will all fall in love with it as much as I did...

WHAT IS BLOCKING?!?!?!?! How, why, what, when? Huh

Also...  How do I keep from getting a wierd xtra large loop at the end of my row, I'm sure you all know what I mean?Embarrassed

Thanks for the help! Wink

24  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crocheted Animals Anyone? on: November 14, 2004 09:49:00 PM
I saw the cutest little crocheted ducky on a blog.  The only thing is there is no pattern available.  I think the author just winged it.  I would kill for a pattern of the sort... Please help.

25  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Lily Pad Slippers on: November 10, 2004 05:52:35 PM
Hey... My great grandma used to make these for me when I was a kid.  They are so cozy and super easy to make.  They are made out of four granny squares, three small and one large. The link I used for the pattern is:

They are super simple and a great begginer project.  Note:  Make the weave tight, or they'll get too baggy. Oh... I added the flower myself.

26  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Craft The Vote! / Show'em You're Votin' on: September 20, 2004 10:37:11 AM
It is important to talk about politics.  It is important to express your views and share your experience.  Whether it's a bumper sticker on your car or a flag out in front of your home, it is important to see that people care.  And it doesn't matter who you vote for, what you believe in, yada yada, just so long as you vote for and believe in something.  Personally, I've got stickers on my car, pins on my backpack, and now jewelery in my ears.  I recently made political earings out of fimo clay.  They're big, they're gaudy, and they sure as hell let people know what I think!  Let's not be zombies people!  Get busy and craft something that says I am, I think, I vote!

Show'em You're Votin'!
