2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Your Favorite Culinary Blogs on: January 16, 2008 11:59:13 PM
So of late I've started cooking more and more often... Perhaps my new girlfriend has been inspiring (she's incredibly intuitive in the kitchen)...  I love diving into my fridge and cupboards on my days off and just improvising delectables.  I have started watching cooking shows like mad... I'm totally addicted to Food Network (my favorites are Jamie Oliver and Giada De Laurentiis).  But even between impromptu snacks during Giada's Weekend Getaways and spontaneous recipes from my lady, I'm still left wanting more.  Which brings me to the point of this post.  I'm interested blogs.  I'd like to know what everyone's favorite culinary blogs are... they could be about shopping at farmer's markets or wine and food pairing or everyday recipes... I'm just dying to know what great food blogs lay out there waiting to inspire...

So which blogs keep you all excited about cooking?
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Afghan or Tunisian Crochet Hooks on: January 16, 2008 11:38:13 PM
Hello everyone,

I just started getting into Tunisian crochet... I love it!  But I only have one old tunisian hook in size H.  I feel like that's kinda limiting but I'm having the darnedest time finding them.  Where do folks find they're afghan hooks, online or in store?

Thanks for the help!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Saddle Blanket experience anyone? on: November 02, 2007 05:09:50 PM
Thanks so much... I knew I had seen a saddle blanket pattern somewhere, I just forgot which book it was.  Thanks again! Hey, do you have any pictures of the blanket you made?  I'd love to see it if you do.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Saddle Blanket experience anyone? on: October 29, 2007 08:54:39 PM
Hi y'all!

My mom recently moved to Montana and got her first horse in 40 years.  I'd like to knit and felt a saddle blanket for her and her horse for christmas.  I've already got a yarn in mind, Brown Sheep Co.'s Burly Spun, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with this or has ever seen a pattern for a saddle blanket.  Any info is greatly appreciated!

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: What happened to CrochetMe.com on: September 24, 2007 03:04:25 PM
Thanks for the blog tip...  I thought I had been reading the right blog, but I had been reading Kim's blog and not CrochetMe's.  Kim did post a preview of the new CrochetMe site last month and it looks like it's going to be AWESOME! I am so excited.  I can't believe she is managing all of this: an incredible magazine, a revolutionary webzine, books, blogs, a life... Bravo Kim, bravo.

Please, someone tell me that CrochetMe is still alive...  It's been the same issue for months and the last I heard they were putting up the new version of the magaine in June.  Is Kim Werker ok?  Does anyone know what's up?

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Huge Granny Square Blanket (Looks better than it sounds) on: January 23, 2007 11:58:11 PM
That is amazing... I'm working on an afghan like this as well, but it doesn't look nearly as beautiful.
9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: View of Mt. Fugi Platter on: January 15, 2007 10:12:43 AM
Wow... This is gorgeous!  One of my favorite pieces of art and using my favorite medium.  It's a gorgeous platter, I can't believe you got all that color from slip.  Well done, well done.  The shape of the platter really compliments the design as well.

P.S. Where did you take your ceramic class?
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Extra Large Needles, circular, cheap? on: January 11, 2007 08:19:40 PM
Hi!

I'm looking for supersized needles, size 19+, less than $15 a pair, preferably not alluminum.  I'm in San Francisco so any shops here?  Or online?

Where can I get huge needles for cheap?

Other ideas on making them myself?

Thanks!

Jess
