61  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My FIRST Reconstruction ~ Please don't laugh! on: January 28, 2005 12:25:46 PM
OK I know I'm not going to win seamstress of the year or anything but this is my first reconstruction and I'm quite proud of it as I was going to throw this away!!!

My DD gave me this Faux Fur Crop Jacket that I really liked but I'm a bit past wearing cropped clothes now  Cry and it was also a little short in the arms and tight across the back.

Anyway Fur Gillets (sp?) are all the rage here at the moment and I wanted one but can't afford one, so......................... drum roll LOL

I carefully removed the sleeves and re-sewed the lining and made Fur Leg warmers out of the left over sleeves ~ OK that wasn't very creative but I'm new and I couldn't think of anything better LOL.

I know it's all not exactly rocket science to you clever gals here but at least it's not going in the bin now  Wink

Hope you can see it all ~ I'm not very bright with the computer either!  Oh DUH me!!!!

62  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Reconstructing Clothing ~ Help. on: January 27, 2005 02:50:17 PM
Can someone please point me to the web-sites where I can find help how to begin learning to do this?

I'm so useless at sewing but I would really like to do some reconstructed clothing.

I know when I first joined somebody gave me a site that showed how to do t-shirts but my PC crashed and I lost my favourites!  Also I'm not sure how to search this site to find it again.

Please help, I'd really like to give it a try ~ Some simple things obviously!

Thanks xxxxxxx
63  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Papier Mache Shoes ~ HOW??? on: December 17, 2004 03:54:30 PM
I've seen some pics of really cute shoes made from papier mache, but I can't find any tutorials anywhere about how to make them.

Does anybody here know how to do it?
64  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Altered Dressing Table/Desk on: September 02, 2004 10:59:23 AM
This is a desk I got from a junk shop.

I have LOADS of Anne Geddes calendars and diaries that I get every year for presents so I collaged them over it (oh and painted some too) rubbed it all down and stained with sepia ink to make it look old.

Hope you like it?  Thanks for looking  Smiley
