21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Hama Bead Obsession! Perler beads on: April 11, 2007 05:41:20 PM
I Know that some of you make AWESOME things with hama beads and I guess these will seem a bit lame.  But I only started to use these beads yesterday and I am already OBSESSED with them!  So for as long as you can stomach it you may be seeing hama bead madness from me!  Wink

Here's what I made so far.  TFL.

I've already put the hello kitty somewhere but I'm so proud of my first attempts that I'm showing you again - so sorry in advance!  Kiss The others are new today!  Grin
22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Perler hama beads - Looking for HELLO KITTY pattern?? on: April 09, 2007 12:48:51 PM
I wonder if anybody can help me.  My daughter wants a hello kitty bedroom and she has a magnet board.  I'd like to make some hello kitty magnets for her and I have LOADS of perler beads but I can't find a pattern.

Does anyone know where I might get one?

Thank you.  Kiss

Somewhere I've seen dolls house rooms made out of cardboard boxes (like a shoebox)  I'd like to do one of these but I'd like to see some for inspiration and I can't find them anywhere.

Can you help please?
25  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Husbands 50th Birthday! (I hate buying for men!) HELP PLEASE on: March 19, 2007 03:35:32 PM
ROFL - I'm thinking now, my husband (and I) are probably old enough or older  Undecided than a lot of your parents! (I don't want to know LOL)

Anyway here's the story - My kids birthdays go: January, February, March, April and May! and my husbands birthday is April too.  So I have 3 major birthdays in 2 weeks!  Shocked

I'm a bit short of money this year and totally out of ideas!  I REALLY don't like buying for men - they are sooooo hard!

So he's 50 (yep you read that right LOL)  It's kinda special and he has TWO cousins the same age within weeks too!

He likes: Photography, Music, GADGETS!!! and that's about it.  Life is mostly made up working, caring for our kids, church etc.

ANY ideas would REALLY be appreciated.

Fanx  Kiss
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My First proper Recon - Finished but I need advice. (Img heavy) on: March 16, 2007 10:37:37 AM
I am quite happy with this as it's my first recon EVER (oh except the t-shirt I cut up ages ago - wrecked - and then threw in the bin  Cheesy )

I saw this army dress today in a charity shop for 2.99 (approx $5.82 USD I think)  But it was a size UK 8 (US 6) and I'm a size 12 (US 10) anyway yadda yadda, here it is:

And a closer view:

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y60/heavensent_7/Picture024.jpg

I bought those trousers too as I HAD to have the dress so I was already planning on reconstructing it, even though I don't have a clue about recons!  Roll Eyes

So:  I sewed two panels (from the trousers) into the sides of the dress (I've seen that done here with t-shirts  Wink )

Like this:

And for a first ever job I didn't think I'd done bad  Huh

My question is this:  It's OK for THIS dress (I think) because of the style of it BUT I made the dress bigger all over (obviously now, I guess - DOH!)  and I have too much of it at the back - See:

If I'd have needed it more fitted, I don't have a CLUE what I'd have done???  Can you help me, just incase I'm ever mad enough to do it again LOL.

Thank you (and Thanks for looking as well)
27  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ikea Craft Storage Drawers Revamped on: March 15, 2007 04:43:22 PM
To be honest this wasn't my idea, I've seen this done by somebody else on-line, that's where I got the inspiration.  However they had new drawers to play with.

Mine started off already revamped by my two kids!   Roll Eyes Here's them before:

My kids had them in their room, but they didn't need them anymore and I thought they'd be handy for craft supplies but NOT looking like that!  (Even though I appreciated the effort that went into decorating them!  Wink )

So here's them now - I hope you like them, Thanks for looking.

29  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Who wants to laugh at me then? on: March 09, 2007 09:38:20 AM
Try not to laugh too loud because I'm actually proud of this despite everything that went wrong  Cheesy

OK this is my FIRST ever piece of knitting (unless you count the miniature bootees I made for a greetings cards I just HAD to make and that's what I taught myself on they are the ONLY other thing EVER and that was AGES ago. All I can do is knit, purl, cast on and cast off and that's it?

So.... half way through......

OPPS!

I found I was one stitch short and I had a HOLE  Shocked that wasn't meant to be there!!!  I didn't know what to do about that so I just sewed it up LOL but it wasn't a good start.

I had cramp in my fingers, a sore finger TIP where I kept pushing the needle through with my finger  Undecided (I'm doing it all wrong aren't I?)

AND...

Here's the funny bit as if it all isn't bad enough already!

I KNOW you could all probably knit like 500 PERFECT ones of these in 20 minutes or something BUT......

I Knitted ONE (with additional hole in it) in ....... Wait for it........

SIX HOURS!!!! Grin

I'm STILL very proud of it.

TA-DA!  MY CUP CAKE!

Thank you so much for looking, when your sides have stopped hurting please tell me I did OK.  Kiss
