11  Bag Charms etc. (recycled clothing tags) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Altered Angel on: November 26, 2007 01:18:14 PM
Recycled clothing tags at different stages.

I don't know if you're familiar with them but the 'George' tag at the top is how it started.  A thick cardboard tag that comes attached to the clothing when it's bought.

I sanded them, painted, collaged, rubberstamped, etc. etc.

The playboy one I made into a bag charm for my daughter.  But they could also be made into keyrings, necklaces, brooch pins, whatever your imagination can come up with that I can't think of LOL.

Thanks for looking.

13  Dr Seuss Cat in the Hat T-Shirt Recon (Image Heavy) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Altered Angel on: November 25, 2007 02:44:53 PM
This is my 2nd T-shirt reconstruction.  I was quite happy with the way it came out.

I bought a cat in the hat pajama top at a car boot sale and I really liked it but it had some coffee stains (or something?) down the front of it and it was a bit big and out of shape.  This is it:

I also had this t-shirt that had shrunk too short for me (somehow?)

So I put them together and made this:  I hope you like it, it's only my second try - Thanks for taking the time to look  Smiley

(That's a heart on the back with a tiny Dr Suess label that was inside the t-shirt added to the edge)

14  Soda Can Candle holder/Ashtray/Candy dish.......... in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Altered Angel on: November 15, 2007 03:43:33 PM
I hope this is in the right place?  Sorry if it isn't  Huh

Little dishes I made out of soda cans.  I guess the use for them is only limited by your imagination.

I hope you like them - Thanks for looking!

15  FIRST T-Shirt Surgery- Comments Welcome (Image heavy) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Altered Angel on: September 21, 2007 04:34:03 PM
So here it is then.  I've wanted to do this for AGES but I've never had the courage to cut something up as I can't sew.

Still - I'm going to a party tomorrow night (husbands work friends that I've never met!) I wanted something new but I have NO money  Undecided  So I thought it was time to give it a try.

SEVEN HOURS LATER (I thought it would take about 20 mins LOL) Sewn finger  Cry and sewed the top to the bottom by accident and had to unpick it all.  3 T-Shirts, 1 tired person.

What do you think?  I'd welcome any comments as I know I did quite a lot wrong but hey I'm learning.

Sorry about the size of the pics.  I don't know why they are so big  Huh

16  Paper Beads in Beads: Completed Projects by Altered Angel on: April 17, 2007 11:54:25 AM
I made these paper beads - My first since I was a child  Smiley

I'm thinking of coating them in something to make them look more like glass and then I have no idea what I'll do with them but it was fun.

TFL.

17  Hama Bead Obsession! Perler beads in Beads: Completed Projects by Altered Angel on: April 11, 2007 05:41:20 PM
I Know that some of you make AWESOME things with hama beads and I guess these will seem a bit lame.  But I only started to use these beads yesterday and I am already OBSESSED with them!  So for as long as you can stomach it you may be seeing hama bead madness from me!  Wink

Here's what I made so far.  TFL.

I've already put the hello kitty somewhere but I'm so proud of my first attempts that I'm showing you again - so sorry in advance!  Kiss The others are new today!  Grin

18  Re: Perler hama beads - Looking for HELLO KITTY pattern?? in Beads: Discussion and Questions by Altered Angel on: April 09, 2007 08:05:39 PM
Thank you for posting the link - That is SO sweet!

I made this: (which is my FIRST ever perler bead creation)

I hope she will like it (she's asleep at the moment, I can't wait to show her!)

But I really want to find some much smaller patterns to make some magnets with as this one is much bigger.  I saw some swaps here somewhere that looked fairly small?  I'd really LOVE to make her some magnets.

If you can share any smaller patterns I would appreciate it.

I hope you like this one - TFL.

19  Ikea Craft Storage Drawers Revamped in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Altered Angel on: March 15, 2007 04:43:22 PM
To be honest this wasn't my idea, I've seen this done by somebody else on-line, that's where I got the inspiration.  However they had new drawers to play with.

Mine started off already revamped by my two kids!   Roll Eyes Here's them before:

My kids had them in their room, but they didn't need them anymore and I thought they'd be handy for craft supplies but NOT looking like that!  (Even though I appreciated the effort that went into decorating them!  Wink )

So here's them now - I hope you like them, Thanks for looking.

20  Who wants to laugh at me then? in Knitting: Completed Projects by Altered Angel on: March 09, 2007 09:38:20 AM
Try not to laugh too loud because I'm actually proud of this despite everything that went wrong  Cheesy

OK this is my FIRST ever piece of knitting (unless you count the miniature bootees I made for a greetings cards I just HAD to make and that's what I taught myself on they are the ONLY other thing EVER and that was AGES ago. All I can do is knit, purl, cast on and cast off and that's it?

So.... half way through......

OPPS!

I found I was one stitch short and I had a HOLE  Shocked that wasn't meant to be there!!!  I didn't know what to do about that so I just sewed it up LOL but it wasn't a good start.

I had cramp in my fingers, a sore finger TIP where I kept pushing the needle through with my finger  Undecided (I'm doing it all wrong aren't I?)

AND...

Here's the funny bit as if it all isn't bad enough already!

I KNOW you could all probably knit like 500 PERFECT ones of these in 20 minutes or something BUT......

I Knitted ONE (with additional hole in it) in ....... Wait for it........

SIX HOURS!!!! Grin

I'm STILL very proud of it.

TA-DA!  MY CUP CAKE!

Thank you so much for looking, when your sides have stopped hurting please tell me I did OK.  Kiss
