1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 30 ENTRIES / Upgrade a PS2 to a Wii! on: September 03, 2008 05:07:01 PM
So you want to get your friend a gift, but don't have the $250 to shell out for a Wii?  For less than a tenth of that , you can craft her a faux-Wii out of her PS2.

Which Wii is Which?

Supplies:
2 skeins Patons Classic Wool (Aran)
1 skein Patons Classic Wool (Dark Grey)
Size 7 knitting needles
1 yarn needle

I made a test swatch to see how the yarn would felt.  That turned out to be useless, since the actual cozy shrank way more than the swatch did.  I ended up having to turn the cozy sideways from the original design.  The width was done as one long panel, and the two sides were sewn in then washed to felt.  The face was stitch on.

Before...

After!

Thanks for looking!

2  COOKING / Dessert / Tiffany Cake on: April 14, 2008 06:22:31 PM
The theme for my sister-in-law's bridal shower was "Breakfast at Tiffany's".  We all wore black dresses and pearls.  It only seemed appropriate that the cake looked like that little blue box no woman can resist, so I gave it a try...

Plus it survived an hour and a half trip to the shower, and me not dropping it!  Please let me know what you think. Smiley
