1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / NBC Shoes on: September 22, 2012 06:03:51 PM
I made these for a friend last Christmas since he is in love with Nightmare Before Christmas but never got around to posting them. He wears them often and said he loves when people ask where they can got some. He takes pride in telling them that they are one of a kind. Parts of them also glow in the dark.

Outside of both shoes look like this

Its the first time I have ever painted shoes but I really liked it. I may have to do more in the future.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Adventure Time with Cake the Cat! on: September 16, 2012 10:25:18 PM
So technically this is part of my Halloween costume but its also a toy so I put it here. Its Cake the cat from the Adventure Time gender bending episode! I also made the iconic green backpack. Can't go on adventures without your animal sibling and backpack  Smiley

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Patriots Rag Quilt on: December 10, 2011 02:51:03 PM
This is the first quilt I have ever made all by myself so it is by no means fancy. I have made only one quilt before and that was with the help of my aunt who has all the neat quilting tools that I wish I have. Anywho, this is a Christmas gift for a friend of mine who loves football and he really loves the Patriots. Hopefully he loves quilts too.

The whole quilt. It is around 6 feet long and 5 feet wide.

And just to peek at the back because its just black

I am really hoping he likes it. I've never been so nervous about a gift. But if its a hideous mess please let me know!  Smiley Happy Hoildays!
4  COOKING / Dessert / Cookies for an Exchange Party on: December 10, 2011 02:30:34 PM
I have to go to a cookie party which is a first for me and I'm excited about it. Rather than making the old standbys that I have, I wanted to try some new cookies because I get bored making the same old things. These are what I made.

Gingerbread Cookie with White Chocolate Chips
These are a soft cookie. The white chocolate is a nice little addition to normal gingerbread.

Red Velvet Cookies
These kind of remind me of little cakes. The cookies are rolled in powdered sugar before baking and then you can sprinkle more on afterwards. I only did the before.

And Cinnamon French Toast Cookies
These are just okay in my book. I think if they had a little more maple in them, it would have what I am looking for.

I just hope people like them at the party. I also hope to find some new cookies for me to like too  Smiley
5  COOKING / Dessert / Would You Like S'more Cupcake? on: July 04, 2011 11:30:04 PM
My friends asked me to make cupcakes like they normally do. Only difference is that this time I remembered to take pictures! And being the summer and the 4th of July I decided to make S'more cupcakes. I do have to say though that I do not like s'more cupcakes with a chocolate cake base. Lots of people do, but I am not one of those people. So these little guys have a graham cracker cake base with melted chocolate on top and a marshmallow buttercream frosting. Then I put chunks of chocolate and little marshmallows on the frosting. They ended up tasting really good but I was a little disappointed that my apartment was too warm so my frosting wasn't doing what I wanted and looked deflated. Oh well, as long as they taste good, right?  Smiley

graham cracker on the bottom of each cupcake

I put a square of chocolate on top when they came out of the oven so it got soft. I then spread it around and let it finish cooling.

And they are topped and ready to be eaten!
6  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / To Ratigan, the world's greatest . . . pumpkin! on: October 27, 2010 08:19:05 PM
I love carving Disney villains and I have done all the general/well known ones so its time to branch out! In steps, Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective.

"I'm afraid that you've gone and upset me. You know what happens when someone upsets me."

He will feed you to Felicia, his cat! Don't make him ring that little bell!  Wink Geez, I'm a nerd.
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Randomly Stenciled Onsies (lots o' pics) on: September 26, 2010 03:40:57 PM
So lets explain myself first. . . my cousin and I are only 6 months apart in age and very close. She and I ended up watching a tons of movie but as we got older we found out how random these movies were. Not a lot of people know what we are talking about when we mention Grandpa's Magical Toys or Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes with Bertram the goose. We were weird kids that didn't know it. With the birth of her second baby coming up, I decided to recall some of those movies, onsies style!

The not as random Pete's Dragon

And just in case she ever forgets which movie . . .

Ever seen Jim Henson Company's The Christmas Toy?

And for hardcore Disney nerds, like myself . . .

Not everything can be original (mostly because time ran short) and this baby means business!

Oh! That's him too. Baby Scott at 6 days old. He wore it to the doctors because everyone knows the doctors is serious stuff.  Smiley All I know is I seriously love this kid.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Penguin and Panda Beanies (earflaps included) on: February 23, 2010 11:07:10 PM
All I basically know how to crochet are basic beanies, so to jazz things up a bit I started sewing faces on them. Buttons and felt are my weapons of choice, the mixed media route. So I thought I'd share two of my little beanies.

Penguin head! The pompom is a little large, I know. I tend to get carried away when making them because I think the bigger they are, the funnier they are.  Grin

Panda head! This was specifically made for my friend. The panda has little black button eyes that are kind of hard to see and it also has ear flaps.

I'm lucky that I have friends who embrace their inner child and are willing to wear these things in public. Smiley
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Hippo Hat on: January 17, 2008 01:59:04 PM
Woohoo for my first post. My roommate and I love hippos. So when Christmas rolled around I remember a post (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=139364.0) I had seen that had a baby's hippo hat. But seeing as when I remembered about it was after midnight and I couldn't run out and buy fabric. So I rummaged through my yarn supply and found exactly what I was looking for. The end result was this...

She loves it and wiggles the ears when she is "angry." So much for being a grown up. Adulthood is overrated any way.
