1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Cupcake Swap Round 2 on: July 10, 2008 03:54:25 PM
Here's what I received from Chelsea...I hope she has better pictures. My camera is very unforgiving to close ups.  Angry All this stuff is awesome, and it came in a box with a cute cupcake doodle on the side. My daughter demanded we open it right away. Warning! Lots of pics ahead!

Here's a group shot. The green thing in back is a t shirt.

See? I told you. Smiley Here's the back.

Here's the front...so cute!

Look at this wallet! I love it! The cupcake isn't really blurry, my camera just sucks.

Cute fuzzy cupcake fabric inside!

Cherry hair clips (my daughter claimed these).

OMG, I love these kick-butt resin pendants! I gave one to my niece (only because she did a huge favor for me), but the rest are mine, all mine! *evil laugh* These are right off my wist...glitter, sprinkles, sparkle! I wish I could show you the glorious sparkle!

Cupcake and ice cream cone earrings! These are so perfect for summer, but I plan on wearing them all year. I might be hallucinating, but I think they smell like chocolate. Or maybe it's because I just eat chocolate when I'm wearing them.  Wink

Matching necklace with cupcakes and necklace with larger resin sprinkle pendant and a tiny gold star. Everytime I wear the sprinkles, people ask if I can smell them. Silly people.

And my personal favorite...a matching shirt for my daughter!
It says "CUTE" in the big pink letters and "as a cupcake" below in sparkly letters. It's exactly the same color as mine. I couldn't get a shot of both of us wearing them together, but trust me, it's a rocking/cute overload! She absolutely loves this shirt and asks if she can wear it every. single. day!
We also got a big cupcake magnet and an embellishment kit! Thanks so much Chelsea!! You're awesome!  Kiss

My kids were just watching Mr. rogers today. Smiley My son loves it because Mr. rogers is always telling them where things come from and how they're made...crayons, towels, robots...and my daughter likes how happy he is. She just smiles when he comes on and sings along with him. Awesome work, this ROCKS!

okay, here are my sad little pictures.  Roll Eyes

I was trying to make the mermaid look "fluid" and not stiff, like my first attempt. But I found that yarn and I loved it!

Here's the bag...I tried to make the sea creatures look cute.

My husband had to point out the octopus only has 6 legs, so he's really a squid. My defense is that some of the legs are BEHIND him, mmmkay?
Anyhow, those are the best pictures my crummy camera could take. Thanks for swapping with me, Linda! Smiley

Yeah, he thinks it's funny now, but when he's eighteen, it's going to be blackmail material.
Thanks again, Linda!!

Finally, finally, here are my pics from the talented Linda. She sent me an awesome package. Warning: lots of pics ahead!

All the swappy goodness in one pic.

An album cover purse...hehehe "Giant of Hawaii".  Grin

Two cute little boxes, and a rice pillow (you can put it in the microwave and make it all cozy!). Ask Linda what the cover is made from. It makes me giggle every time I think about it.

I love this one so much. A paper picture of a mermaid watching a whale. It's hanging out in my bedroom.

A painted silk scarf. This one is actually hanging up in my bathroom. Hard to see the details but it's so lovely!

Here are the goodies that were in those cute boxes! OMG, I'm so spoiled.

Forgive the crappy pic, my camera hates closeups. I love these earrings! They have little bitty pirate figures on them. Arrrrrrr.   Cool

This necklace has so many sweet little details! I've gotten so many compliments on it. I love it!

Here are more earrings. I can't tell you how awesome these are. TWO pairs of fish earrings! The bottlecap is a magnet (the blurry red thing is a lobster) and it has a twin which fell behind the couch when I went to take the picture. Don't worry, I made my son crawl back there and retrieve it.

And here's my son holding all the extras that Linda added! (Did I mention this was a HUGE box and I'm really spoiled?) Yeah, that's a seashell bra and flower lei. I know, I'll be paying for therapy in a few years. There was also a little bag of chocolate coins in there but they mysteriously disappeared... Roll Eyes
Thanks so much, Linda. You are awesome.  Kiss

I am trying to get pics of my stuff up. I LOVE MY STUFF, SAM!!!!!!  Kiss My husband "fixed" my computer (which means he broke it) and now, after over a week of being without it, my computer won't play with my camera anymore. I would have prefered a slower computer that actually worked, you know? Don't worry, I will keep tryinmg and get my pics up here yet.  Roll Eyes
8  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Cupcake Swap Round 2- Signups CLOSED Sendouts 16th June on: May 29, 2008 05:47:58 PM
I'm here! I threw my back out and just got home from the hospital today.  Roll Eyes Yes, after nearly cutting off my finger a week ago. May is NOT my month! On the plus side, I had time to get a few little things done.  This had better mean I have nothing but good luck/good health for the rest of the year.  Wink

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Origami help, please? Cranes needed! on: May 26, 2008 07:55:09 PM
Hi all, I don't usually post here, just lurk, but I'm looking for some help. My brother in law has just been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He's only 29, married less than a year. He thought he was stressed and had gallstones until a few days ago when he went to the hospital. He's already had a major surgery and as soon as he is strong enough, they will begin chemo treatment.
His major passion in life is origami. He creates the most amazing pieces. He's made nativities, vases, all kinds of cool stuff. He got my niece the book about Sadako, the little Japanese girl who had leukemia. She tried to make 1000 paper cranes, because it is said that folding 1000 cranes will grant you one wish. http://www.sadako.org/sadakostory.htm
My niece asked that we fold 1000 cranes for her uncle. If you can help me, even by making one or two, I would so appreciate it. I have a diagram I can send you, and it's also easy to find on line. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks!  Smiley
