HI Lisa,

I have sort of found an answer to my problem.  I noticed that I can use multiple layers of Polycrylic with the proper drying time.  They do seem to hold up.  I searched google using search term:  "polycrylic tips and techniques".  Although this took me to many wood crafting forums, the information is very useful.

Hi All,

I have been creating stock in a business that I am starting, but am at the point where I am ready to formally file the proper paperwork for Sales Tax, state, IRS, etc. 

My products are coasters, magnets, key ring plaques and coat racks, most of which are hand painted.  I do not want to limit the company name to just these products, as I have a 1,000 ideas

So far, I have thought of the following:

Jenny's Junk House
The Squared House
House Squared (House²)
This Squared Home


I am NOT good with words.  At least not as good as I am with paints, which doesn't say much!)

I respect all the crafters on this site and could not think of a better group of people to ask.

Nobody has offered any advice so far, but this is my second attempt.

I have been looking into resin, but am starting to think its just too expensive.  It would raise the cost of my products to be too high to remain competitive.

I have created this Key Ring Plaque, but it is not complete.  As usual, I am not saavy with a camera and could not get a good picture.  I have not put the hardware for the keys on yet.  Also, I'm not sure how to finish the edging.  Right now, it is just the plain wood.  I was thinking of painting the edging white. 

Any opinions, good or bad would be appreciated.

Hi Lindsey,

Sorry for the late reply, but I had to tell you that the mirror is a great idea.  A friend and I went to an Art Festival and we ended up separated.  Later she told me that she wanted to buy a pair of earrings, but the booth did not have a mirror and I was nowhere around to give my opinion.  LOL. 

So, moral of the story, don't forget the mirror!

Here is another set of coasters that I have free hand painted.  I am having a hard time getting a good picture that shows the richness in the color, but hopefully you get the idea.  They look much brighter/better in person. 

Any good or bad advice would be advisable.  I am going to sell these for approximately $25/set.  They are one of a kind and hand painted, so I am hoping the price seems justified.  Please give me your feedback, good or bad.
