1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / "make it so!" on: November 01, 2010 01:31:27 PM
Here is the Halloween costume I made for my 8 week old son Arlo.  He sure made a great Captain Picard, and had fun "trick or treating", well having our neighbours oogleover his cute bald head & smile!

Vote for Arlo!!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / shirts for my soon-to-be-born baby boy! on: July 28, 2010 02:13:46 PM
In 4 weeks I am due to have a baby boy!!  These are some of the first clothes I've made for him!  They are so tiny, maybe newborn to 0-3 months.  I can't wait to put them on him!

first, we have a pirate jammie top made of waffle knit,  and a jersey skull t-shirt...

then, we have a green and a brown t with orange neck binding!

ps- they aren't wonky, they just look like it... I'm not a great photographer...
Thanks for looking!

C&C appreciated!
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / T-shirt for Banjo-obsessed hubby on: June 10, 2010 10:57:44 AM
So a few months ago my DH got a banjo from and estate sale, and has been annoying me with it, even while I'm trying to watch TV!  Granted, he has gotten pretty good, but I can't hear Bones!  Irritating!
Well, I thought I'd make him a shirt to show his obsession to the world!  It wasn't all that easy with all the little pieces in the stencil, but I drew it myself and everything!

Well, here you go! Please excuse the washed out photo, it's been rather drab here lately...

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Metal tackle box to Sister's new sewing box! on: May 04, 2010 07:23:41 AM
For Xmas my DHs family draws names for gifts (there are 8 of us not including Mom & Dad!)  I drew  my SIL and she didn't have a proper sewing box, so I found this awesome, old rusty, dented, metal tackle box at an estate sale, sanded it down and spray painted it.  Then I made a stencil out of contact paper, put it on the top and painted it again, leaving the plant design behind!  Then I fixed up the inside because it was all stained and stuff, and filled it with goodies, I'm teaching her to crochet!
It was really fun!  So on to the pics...

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / wooden alien blocks on: April 28, 2010 12:15:00 PM
This was the second set of blocks my husband and I made for Xmas.  We made these for the little boy of some friends of ours.  His daddy is a huge space fan!

I made the patterns, hubby cut them with our "new" scroll saw, we sanded them, and I painted and wood burned them.  It was a really fun project, and the recipient and his parents love them!

We made a spaceship that any of the aliens can ride in, and "moon rocks"  to go with the set, and a drawstring tote, which they love for keeping toys in when they travel!

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / wooden dinosaur blocks on: April 28, 2010 11:43:18 AM
My husband and I made these blocks for our nephew Frederick for Xmas, they were really fun!  I made the patterns, then he cut them, and I painted them after we sanded them down!  We made these "rocks" to go with the set, as well as 2 trees and a volcano.  The rocks are great for stacking!!  Plus, all the dinosaurs can stack on top of each other, creating a dino tower!!
FUN FUN FUN!!

I then made this drawstring bag to pack it and the rest of his presents (all dino themed) into!  They really love the  bag to keep toys in, and use it ALL the time!

Let me know what you think!!
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Bubbles the Robot & Frode on: July 28, 2009 02:42:57 PM
I made these guys for some friends' kids.  The monkey is named "Bubbles the Robot" by a 4 year old little girl, and I call the frog Frode (pron. FROO-DUH).  They are made from patterns from the book Fleecie Pets.

Frode has his swim trunks on and is about to go swimming!

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Astrid the Bear on: July 28, 2009 02:29:03 PM
I made this little sweetie for a friend's 9 month old little girl.  I think she looks like an Astrid.  I used a pattern for the bear from the book Fleecie Pets  ( I think that's what it's called...) but winged it for the dress.

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Felt Dragon on: July 27, 2009 02:26:06 PM
This is a gift I made for my 13 year old nephew.  He is a dragon lover,  and I looked for a pattern, but couldn't find any, so I made up my own!  I'm actually pretty happy with it!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / laundry apron! on: July 27, 2009 02:17:02 PM
I made this apron last week because I got my clothesline fixed, and i only have 2 hands, which makes it hard to hold clothespins and pin clothes up at the same time!  It is REALLY handy!!  I can fit like 100 clothespins in it, too!

Thanks for looking! C&C welcome!
