1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / gift for a close guy friend on: October 06, 2008 09:49:37 PM
so my best guy friend turned 19 today, and i have no clue what to make him! he has been my crush for about a year and a half now, but i don't want my gift to make it awkward. i want it to be meaningful in a "you're really awesome and i love you best friend" way and not a creepy "i've got a major crush on you" kind of way. does that make sense? haha he knows that i like him, but i want it to be a strictly friends gift.

he's a big metal head and loves the internet and video games (pretty much anything for xbox 360). he is learning how to play guitar and writes his own songs too. i made him a shirt a while ago that said "team creeper" on it, which he loved and all his friends like a lot. i also bought him a poster that says, "if it ain't metal, it ain't music". he's super into ultimate frisbee, and his favorite color is black.

i'm sure he'd like anything i make him, but i want it to be a meaningful gift instead of just a silly thing. anyway, if anyone has any ideas i'd love to hear them! he's visiting near the end of october, so i have a little while to think and create. anything is welcome, and if you need more info, ask away! thanks so much!  Grin
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / black and white photography on: April 01, 2008 08:56:21 PM
hello all! here are some photographs i took/developed/printed for my photography class that i'm taking! sorry that the photos are so large; i didn't want the photos to come out distorted by the file size changing so drastically. all of these are uncropped.

the first one of the shoes has a chemical stain on the negative (any idea how that happened?!), but i think it looks pretty neat. the second shoe one was taken using a pinhole camera that i made out of one of those single serving cereal boxes.

thanks for looking guys! i'm up for any criticism or critique!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / hand-painted glass ornaments on: December 30, 2007 04:19:20 PM
here's 3 ornaments that i hand-painted for daughters of my mom's friends. i kept messing up the "M" one, so that's why it looks different than the others. i also did similar ornaments for my friends in my dorm, though those ornaments were smaller. i hope you all like them!
