122  My take on Amy Butler's Modern Diaper Bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by b2j2fitz on: July 03, 2009 02:26:04 PM
I really like this and I have the pieces cut to make another. I cut the demensions by 20%...since I hear the actual bag is HUGE!!  There is a changing matt with it and I also made a binky bag/pyramid bag to match that I don't have a picture of!  Will add it later...Here ya go...

The outside of the bag...

The inside of the bag...

The changing matt rolled up...

The changing matt opened...

So what do ya think??? This one was a gift and I'm gonna make one for myself in a modern pink fabric...I'm havin' a girl!

c/c welcome

*UPDATE*

photos added of the binky bag I made to match the diaper bag

Obviously it has a zipper...it is lined, as well as lined with clear vinyl.  I always hated it when I lost the binky at the bottom of the bag...found it, and it had fuz and crumbs all over it!!  This way, that shouldn't happen, but you can also clean out the inside of the bag with a wipe or wet washcloth.

123  I just LOVE bold print!!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by b2j2fitz on: July 03, 2009 02:20:24 PM
I finished this up a couple weeks ago for a craft fair this fall.  I quilted the fabric myself using a fusible fleece interfacing.  Turned out pretty good...wish I had more of that fabric!!  I put darts at the bottom of the pockets so that there would be some give...got the idea from the modern diaper bag by AB.

Here is a photo of the outside...

Here is a photo of the inside...

Here is a closeup of the quilting...

Thanks for looking!

124  Paisley in teals bag with matching fabric flower!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by b2j2fitz on: July 03, 2009 02:09:06 PM
I liked this fabric way better as a bag than sitting flat on my cutting table!!!  I really like how it turned out but would use a much lighter interfacing for the lining and pocket for it if I did it again.  It was really difficult to work with.  Otherwise I love how it turned out, especially with the fabric flower...which btw, was crazy easy to do!!

Thanks for looking...any c/c welcome!

125  Pink/green/brown paisley...hmmm in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by b2j2fitz on: June 08, 2009 05:45:49 AM
I made this bag to sell at a craft fair as well.  It is interfaced with a heavy stablizer, lining and outside fabric.  It's a bit stiff, but I hate it worse when bags fall in on themselves!  Tell me what you think.

Front of bag.  Lined with a pinkISH sateen? material that my mom found at a thriftstore for me!  Gotta love those buys!

Here's a closeup of the pattern of the fabric.  I love the colors but not everyone might.  What do you think?

The inside of the bag has two pockets.  One is a general side pocket and across from it I placed a cell phone pocket.  They are patch pockets by the way.

126  Can anyone tell me what the pattern is on this fabric? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by b2j2fitz on: June 07, 2009 11:02:49 PM
I finished this bag tonight...it is meant for sale at my first craft show in the fall.  I am expecting a baby in September and have been put on bedrest, so I plan to sew, sew, sew...and make as much as possible until the baby is born!!!  This is the second bag I have made for sale so far...I used a simple jordy pattern, added a side pocket and cell phone pocket on the opposite side.  It took roughly two fat quarters of fabric and the measurements are around 12'' across the top, 8'' across the base.  It is 4'' wide on the bottom.  C&C welcome as this helps me create the best bag I can for anyone who might purchase it!  Thanks all!

Front of the bag

Close up of the detail in quilting the pattern...the first time I have done this so it isn't perfect!!!  But it is way cheaper than buying that pre quilted fabric at the store!!

128  dress shirt turned quilted wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by b2j2fitz on: February 06, 2008 08:23:23 PM
Okay, so I made a ''long'' wallet.  I used an old dress shirt of my husband's and an old sheet for the inside fabric.  I used the shirt material and quilted the outside fabric.  There is a zipper pocket with two pockets behind it for cash, receipts and my pocket calender.  Smiley  I made six card compartments.  I could've made a pocket behind this part but I decided the wallet would be sturdier without it nor did I really need the extra pocket.  All in all I'm pretty happy with it...I just realized afterwards that I should've made my closure flap longer.  I used a magnetic snap btw.

129  Re: Babyangel wallet along in Craftalongs by b2j2fitz on: February 06, 2008 07:41:21 PM
I made this wallet over this past week.  This is a ''long'' wallet...so it's not exactly like babyangel's, but I used her zipper tute.  I also quilted the outside fabric using one of my husband's old shirts.  Some of the inside fabric is an old cotten sheet that I had.  I like the quilting but it made it a little thick and hard to sew.  The stitching is pulling in some areas because of it.  I like how it turned out except that I should have made my flap longer.  When my pocket calender is inside it can be hard to snap shut.

Oh yea, I used a magnetic snap closure.

These are pics of the pockets behind the zipper pocket.

Comments and criticism's appreciated.

130  My first baby sling in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by b2j2fitz on: February 06, 2008 06:59:55 PM
Okay, so my sister and I both had babies two months apart.  I decided to make each of us matching baby slings.  I got the pattern from karmababy but I had to modify it to fit my baby and myself.  I used a cream colored corduroy upholstery fabric for the body of the sling and a purple calico material for the pocket.  There is also a place to attach a toy...here I used a D ring.  Once again this idea came from karmababy.  Here are the pics
