1  Christmas Present for my roomie; pretty but useful. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by cats_tongue on: December 21, 2007 02:24:43 PM
For christmas I made my roomie oven mitts. She's a fan of the "Oh there's nothing I want for christmas genre." and never has any ideas. She settles for useful things though. This year in my crafting kick I decided to make her these since she loves to bake. Smiley

She was pretty happy with them. I'm glad b/c they were so much fun to make.

2  An awesome new purse from old pillow cases in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by cats_tongue on: December 19, 2007 09:30:17 AM
Just one of my christmas presents this year. I found an awesome tute from Tiny happy ( http://www.tinyhappy.typepad.com/ ) for shoulder bag. I had a couple of these old pillow cases my friend had given me ( they'd never been used) that I thought would be perfect!

And here it is. My friend better like this purse, because if she doesn't... I'm going to take it back. Wink

It still needs a button and tie, but other than that it is finished.
Sorry about it being on it's side... can't figure out how to change that.

3  Not A True Quilt but a Quilt all the same... in Quilting: Completed Projects by cats_tongue on: December 19, 2007 09:21:40 AM
So this is a "quilt" I made for my parents.

It's not traditional quilting style, but you clip all the edges and it becomes such a nice comfy-TV-watching-Cuddling quilt.

It's made from flannel, and flannellette (I cannot spell today). As you can see it's a map of the world... because my family has done a lot of traveling and the idea just popped into my head.

It's not quite finished, I have to notch along all the seems, cut all the loose threads and give it a few good washes... But I'm gonna do that at home this weekend, since I have exams.
