1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Beginners inchies swap (SU 16th Dec 2010 - 15th Jan 2011 SO 16th Feb 2011) on: January 23, 2011 06:58:12 AM
Swimming?! Sad
So jealous. I wish it was warm enough to swim here.
Our school was closed on Friday because it was -12 degrees and our boiler bust because it was so cold.
So the pipes froze and there was no heat in our entire high school.

On another note, our first semester is done with. No more finals!
So I'm am starting inchies TODAY.

Found a few supplies for inchies, and I have some "bases" punched out.  Just sent partner a message, and going to wait to hear what she says before I dive in.  This will be interesting.

So any inchie "rules"...can they be really thick?  Do thy have to be flat?  Just curious how far we can take it.

There aren't really any rules. Keep shipping in mind though. Sending in a regular envelope with minimal shipping might not be an option.

Inchies, I love them, but they create so much clutter. Even the smallest bits of paper get saved. I'm such a packrat. Tongue

On an inchies note, I was about to recycle a Southern Living magazine last night, and noticed some of the most gorgeous backgrounds for inchies!

Ha! I did this exact thing this morning with an empty gum package. My boyfriend was about to throw it away, and I'm like "NO! That would make some beautiful inchies" Haha. He reluctantly handed it over. Tongue

But I'll have to see what my schedule's like after school starts up again.

I think I'm getting first swap jitters. I really want to get started but I'd hate to start on something my partner doesn't love. Anyone else ever feel like that during swaps?

Go for it. Inch away. (: Like nilmerg said, you can use some. You might not. It all depends. But if they don't match your partners taste, then you get to keep some for yourself(: Personally, I've never met an inchie I didn't love.

On another note, HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL! (:

So it's okay to draw your inchies instead of gluing/modge podging picture cut outs to them?

Yes! I love hand drawn inchies. I made some for my last inchies swap and a lot of people said those were their favorites!
