I've had a busy week!  I had some Etsy sales and had to replace them.  I hope you enjoy.

Sunflowers - Corriedale -  Colors are deeper in person.  Golds, greens, browns and reds.

Beautiful Day - BFL - Again - colors are much deeper in person.

Strawberry Fields - Falkland Wool

Rich For It - Alpaca/Merino/Silk

My favorite - Fade To Nantucket - Falkland Wool - colors are richer in person

Thanks for looking

Last but not least, how about some Chocolate Covered Cherries?  Yummy alpaca blend with a little bit of angora and merino, so soft and squisy, not to mention super soft and fuzzy.

Thanks for looking.  There are a LOT of amazing yarns posted this week.

Oops, I see you got it. LOL

OK, here's my advice.  Buy up as many bobbins and spare parts as you can, while you still can.  You can upgrade to a 4 ounce bobbin set up but will have to send in the mother of all.  Let me know if you want to do that and I can tell you who to contact.  She told me recently they had only one set up left then no more forever.

When you practice treadling, try and keep the wheel spinning as SLOW as you can and still keep it moving.  This is a BIG wheel and it takes a lot of practice to be able to keep it moving slowly.  Also, try and practice stopping the wheel at the one-o-clock position, this is not a wheel you can start from any position.  If you need to, put a little piece of tape on the spot that will put it there so you can see it while you are treadling

Keep her oiled up good, they are pretty thirsty wheels.

I have one.  This is not a wheel for a new spinner.  It is SUPER fast and unless you are an experienced spinner it's almost impossible to keep going at a slower pace, which a newer spinner usually needs.

Here's another problem, parts are running low since they aren't being made anymore.   Now that I know how to spin I can spin on it, but I just don't love it the way I love my other wheels.

Good luck.

Ya know, I didn't think of it that way.  Grin

Thanks for the info.  He's making me a spindle first and that should be ready pretty quickly since there's not waiting list right now for custom spindles.  It's kind of a prelude for the wheel so he can get the logo and everything set for the wheel.  I'm just as excited about the spindle! LOL  At least that's "almost" instant gratification.

I'm totally leaning towards the triple flyer with the built in kate.  ::sigh:: It's not that long right?

10  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Fri 2/21/08 - Okay my bad, Fiber Thurs anyone? on: February 25, 2008 12:38:14 AM
I can post pics now, so here is the yarn I worked up this week.  I'm currently knitting up a cute little neck warmer with it.  The warm colors are so yummy.   This is spun from Corriedale that I got from Crown Mountain Farms.  It was spun on my Kromski Minstrel and averages 18 - 20 wpi.
