53  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My boyfriend's new hat. on: December 29, 2007 10:48:34 PM
It's so cute to see his reaction once I give him things I make.. especially when I make it in front of him.

^Somebody needs a haircut.

He's one of those type of boyfriends to actually strut off the things I make. My previous ones.. just put it back on a shelf, you know?  I'm sure you noticed where the pattern is from  Wink It's my favorite!

now his friends are asking me to make them things.  question, would it be wrong to ask for some cash? i don't have the colors they want or the money to buy it but i'm kinda.. shy about these things.
54  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Pattern Confusion? on: December 21, 2007 12:56:12 AM
Well I'm trying to make the Light 'n' Lively Tank. http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/60485.html

I'm a beginner I guess .. I've made scarves.. some hats and bags. I'm okay at reading patterns.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.. but I looked through the Crochetalongs.. and my results look nothing like theirs.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in next 13 dc, 5 dc in marked dc (move marker to center dc of 5 dc), dc in next 13 dc 31 dc.
Continue to work as established, working 5 dc in marked stitch and working 2 more dc on each side for 3 (4, 5, 6, 7) more rows 19 (21, 23, 25, 27) sts on each side with 5 dc in marked st. Fasten off.

Somehow the triangle is actually turning into an oval? I'm so confused with the 5 dc in the marked stitch because it looks odd. So I assume I'm doing it wrong.  Any tips or pictures to help me see what I'm doing wrong?
55  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Photography.*first time posting* on: December 18, 2007 01:20:18 AM
I used to photograph EVERYTHING about three years ago...

At my favorite park..

Tiny Kingdoms at our feet

Corner street

Through the car window..

After school drive..

On a road trip..

and this creature.. :]

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one in the group of my friends.. that is intrigued by nature and photography. I'm often made fun of because I carry my camera with me all the time.. with extra batteries haha.

and... because he's cute.. Cheesy
