1  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Completed Projects / My first try at weaving, ever! on: September 20, 2008 01:50:29 PM
I recently started at a school for textile crafting and this is my first finished project! It's a scarf, about 2 meters long and 40 centimeters wide, woven in yarn dyed with cochenille and madder. There are also some strands of handspun yarn in it and I added various beads (plus a small bell Cheesy) to the fringes.

It's a crappy picture, but I think you get the general idea.

An action shot! (look serious? nah...)

I'm really happy with how this one turned out, I'm wearing it all the time! It's perfect now when it's getting a bit colder here. Cheesy
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Viking hat! on: September 20, 2008 07:16:44 AM
A viking hat called the Birka hat, hand sewn in two kinds of wool and embroidered with yarn coloured by st Johns wort. It's hemmed with rabbit fur, personally tanned by myself.

I'm quite happy with how it turned out, though it is a bit uneven.

In action. Cheesy
