11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / source for coin purse hardware? on: February 13, 2007 08:09:03 AM
I love the sock coin purses at littlemissmatched: http://www.littlemissmatched.com/.  I bet I could make similar ones myself... except that I can't find the hardware.  does anyone know where - preferably online or in Canada - I can get the closures?
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / shrimp sushi bag - link to pattern for the shrimp on: January 11, 2007 11:30:10 AM

I made this felted shrimp sushi bag for the Bag Challenge, but didn't make the deadline.  The pattern for the shrimp piece, which is actually an outer pocket, is here, if anyone's interested.
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / tree cosies in the Chicagoist on: January 10, 2007 10:23:11 AM
Has anyone else seen this article in the Chicagoist on knitted tree cosies?  Sweet!  I think it should be a knitting challengeGrin
14  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Knitted and Felted Shrimp Sushi Bag on: January 07, 2007 09:53:14 AM
This was supposed to be my entry in the Bag Challenge, except that I didn't make the deadline.  I finished it yesterday, but wasn't able to felt it until today.   Sad

More pics and info here at my blog.
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / knitted heart from Knit.1 magazine on: December 31, 2006 07:23:32 PM
The pink heart muscle itself is about 8 inches tall.  With the blood vessels, it's about double that height.

This is the photo from the Knit.1 magazine (Winter 06-07 "Love issue").  My early WIP is covering some of the layout.

This WIP photo shows the actual colours better.

A quick knit, and a fun gift for the medical-type person in your life.  Grin
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / doll purse from Andean Folk Knits on: November 16, 2006 07:21:09 AM

The opening of the purse is at the back.

More FO pics here.
WIP pics here and here.

The pattern is from the same book as the llama purse and fish purse, Andean Folk Knits by Marcia Lewandowski.
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / fish purse from Andean Folk Knits on: November 09, 2006 06:01:10 AM
After completing the llama purse from the book Andean Folk Knits by Marcia Lewandowski, I made this, from the same book:

More FO pics here.
WIP pics here.

It's a fun book and the items are well designed.  If you're into making small things, this book is for you.   Smiley

18  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / llama purse from Andean Folk Knits on: October 31, 2006 08:08:46 AM

All done except for the strap.  The legs are small pouches called "unas" which are commonly found on Andean bags.

WIP pictures here.

More FO pics and sparse notes here.

If you like to knit small things in the round with little or no seaming, then I can't recommend this book enough: Andean Folk Knits by Marcia Lewandowski.   The llama purse was an absolute joy to knit.

Has anyone else made anything from this book? I'd love to see the FO if so.   Smiley

EDIT: all done, with strap.
