1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Rocker Butterfly Baby Bib on: March 20, 2009 11:27:01 PM
So . . . normally I'm a procrastinator, but I made a bib, and I am nowhere near having a kid.  Roll Eyes It started out as a project to make bibs for a program at my church, but I wanted to use some of the fabric I already had, and I ended up with this:

I used the bib pattern in Susan Mickey's Sewing Projects in an Afternoon, but I used bias tape to make ties as opposed to using Velcro, and I used a butterfly applique instead of making an animal face. For your amusement, I've included a picture of Axel modeling the bib. Just 'cause.  Wink

2  COOKING / Dessert / Hi Guys: A Steve the Piranha Plant Birthday Cake! on: January 09, 2009 07:50:13 PM
So, I'm sure most of you know about the Super Mario Brothers video games, but you may not have seen the parody of the game on newgrounds.com, Bowser's Kingdom. In these parodies, the Piranha Plant usually known as Petey instead is called Steve, has a love for milk, and always pops up at the random-est of times to annoy everybody else. Basically, he is identical to my boyfriend, so for his 20th birthday, I made my Steve a Bowser's Kingdom themed cake!  Cool

Please be gentle, it's my first post and my first try at frosting a cake to actually look like something.  Undecided

Close-up:

Action shot! (For some reason, I didn't get a pic of him with the cake. Darn my forgetfulness. Cry)
