2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / It's a Morning Glory Necklace! on: April 06, 2009 11:59:23 AM
So, here I am continuing my adventure into needle felting. I've been thinking about my mom's gardens lately and that always reminds me of the stunning morning glories she grows every year. Here's my homage:

It's 100% needle felted, no wires, or wet felting involved.

This has also been an adventure in photography for me, which has been pretty fun Smiley

Comments and stuff are always welcome and encouraged. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out.
3  CANADA / Ontario / Indie Craft show in Toronto on: April 03, 2009 04:36:59 PM
Ok friends, here's the deal. I keep seeing all these posting for AWESOME indie craft shows in the states, like Indie Craft and Bizzar Bizarre. I know that there's the small trunk show here and the random city of craft event there. I've applied to be in them all and never get in. We clearly need a bigger venue. I say we plan our own UNBIASED craft show. For those who are making cool, alternative crafts, but haven't inflatrated the Toronto Craft Alert posse just yet.

Would anyone be interested in this? I would love to have a big show, to showcase all of us, be totally inclusive, you know? I think the scene here is huge and I think that we could pull a ton of people in if we did it right.

What do you say? You know you wanna....
4  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / It's a Calla Lily! Brooch!! on: March 23, 2009 01:35:39 PM
So, I'm officially addicted. Here's my latest needle felted creation a calla lily that is also a stylish brooch.

I really really like it Smiley It's entirely needle felted, I even felted to pin on the back while felting it all together. It's in there for good.

What do you think?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / It's a cowgirl dress on: March 19, 2009 01:50:00 PM
Hi all! I love that this section of craftster exists. It makes me happy. I attended a show at fashion week here in Toronto the other night and I made a dress for the occasion:

I knocked off a cowboy shirt that my boyfriend had to make the pattern for the bodice and then the bottom is a half circle skirt.

Sorry that the pictures are blurry and that there's not a full length picture, that one was just too blurry. Know that it goes down to just below my knees though Smiley

6  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / It's Ivy! That You Can Wear! on: March 19, 2009 10:13:57 AM
Hey everyone, I've been lurking around this board for a while, I'm normally just over at the crochet boards chatting it up. So here's my first post: Some needlefelted jewelery that I've been working on. A matching set, bracelet and necklace:

The bracelet, you can actually wrap it around your wrist twice, like this:

And the Necklace:

I really like them, and now I want to make a set that has some flowers on them Smiley

Comments welcome and appreciated.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / It's a Tiny Fez!! on: March 11, 2009 02:45:36 PM
Ta DA! here's my latest creation and addition to the Teeny Tiny Hat Family:

It's all single crochet, done in the round without joining. Then I just lightly felted this one, leaving some of the stitch definition.

Like?
8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / It's a Purple Fish!! on: March 08, 2009 11:45:28 AM
Here it is, the second fish my newest vision of ridiculousness.... And it's purple.

purple fish modeling for the camera

o!

Secrets.

The pattern is from Tiny Yarn Animals by the wonderful Tammie Snow. I'm planning on making a bunch of 'em in different colours and then filling a fish bowl with them.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / It's a Teeny Tiny Beret (actually, there's a bunch of them!) on: March 04, 2009 02:14:03 PM
Soo, I've been hard at work (well you know, not really work, mostly super awesome fun times) making these teeny tiny berets.

They're all done in single crochet, in the round and then I felt them in my washing machine to make them look all pretty.

I've also been experimenting with needlefelting for embellishments. What do you think??

10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / It's a Red Fish! on: January 31, 2009 01:25:34 PM
After finishing the afghan of doom/awesomeness I decided to kick back and make something simple and quick.

Over the holidays I bought the book, Tiny Yarn Animals by Tamie Snow from Roxycraft.com and I decided to tackle the goldfish pattern.

I'm so glad I did, 'cause I got this:

After finishing, I decided that it would be great to stuff a fish bowl FULL of these little suckers. It's gonna happen, yup.
