1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tablecloth to Dress! on: June 25, 2008 10:33:57 PM
So my fiance surprised me with tickets to Stevie Wonder.  And of COURSE, I had nothign to wear.  So i used our table cloth...

to make this lil' number...

its essentially 2 seams...  one to sew the edges together, the other to sew the casing for the elastic.  i just cut off about 8" of one edge, and hacked some off the top and made sure to save the bottom hem (i hate hemming!) and made the casing, stuffed elastic thru and tied it off with a little sash from another dress.  voila!
enjoy!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / new tunic top! (8 img) on: March 09, 2008 09:31:31 AM
i made this tunic from Simplicity sew easy pattern 2962 yesterday in about an hour and a half.  i started with view B, and lengthened the pattern and made smaller pleats and boycotted the pockets.  the fabric is a linen from joanns.  they're all on sale, so i figured why not...  the next one, i'll line most likely b/c it'll just look nicer and be less itchy, but i wanted to wear it out last nite, and im impatient Smiley

thanks for lookin'!

hey!  for my boyfriend for valentines day, i decided to go totally cheesy and make a love monster.
he's stylin' in some plaid cotton in the front & black corduroy in the back.  complete with 2 little red hearts (awwwwwww, i know i know).  the eyes are some buttons i found in a bin my great grandma had, so why not!

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / travel pouch with a wonk zipper via tutorial! on: December 29, 2007 11:35:12 PM
so i just went on a trip to puerto rico over the holidays, right, and i decided (the day i was leaving) i needed a new travel bag.  i came to this decision abruptly mostly b/c the one i use all the time is fugly and i'm sick of looking at it's 1976 glory.  i decided to use this tutorial Straight Sided Triangular (Prism) Cosmetic Bag and rock it out...

my zipper is a little wonkish and this pouch is giant sized b/c i tend to OD on bringing shower items on trips... and this bag left me room to steal the freebies!! Cheesy

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / those lil' fortunes... on: December 15, 2007 09:45:16 AM
At work, we have what we like to call Chinese Thursdays, where we order chinese food and always ask for extra cookies... mainly for me.  so i've been saving the fortunes (i'm afraid to toss 'em), and i had a giant pile and was wondering what to do. so i used Aileen's clear craft gel and glued 'em to a canvas from Michaels for about 3 bucks.

enjoy!
