1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Owl Nametag wall hangings on: January 14, 2008 08:10:08 PM
These are so cute!

I really love owls.  I have noticed they are becoming kind of trendy lately.  I want to make an owl project or maybe buy something owl-ish, but can you guys answer something for me?  Is there any hidden meaning behind the owl?  I know they stand for "wise" and "truthful" and I would be proud to make owls that mean that, but I am just worried they mean something else that I am naive about! (like a gang or something lol!)

well when i got my owl tattoo the guy made it into a tree of knowledge because owls are suppose to be wise and he also put a skeleton key in the tree. So yea you can make some wise old owls I believe thats the  meaning at least thats what i remember from old fairy tales the owl is always the smart character lol
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Vintage 80s purse revamped with stickers and buttons on: January 14, 2008 01:24:51 PM
So sometimes i like to find really vintage 80's bags from thrift stores and then cover them with free stickers i get at concert, record stores, and buttons too. It makes the bag look really cool and if you have a friend who loves music this would be a cool gift to give them if you find stickers of their favorite bands.

So i dont know what topic this would go under its sewing and stamping and embroidering, but basically you make these little owls and sew on button eyes and embroider thier beaks and you get letter stamps and you can stamp out someones name, or a saying or anything your heart desires. I gave out a few as christmas gifts and then made some to hang in my dorm room to spiff the place up. I just think they are the cutest things!

So im going to post my pictures of my tattoo's. My first one ever was the poodle and my last one which i got two weeks ago was with my friends we all got matching kiss mark tattoo's on our butts. My favorite is my fox in the snow, its based on my favorite song by the band Belle and Sebastian which is one of my favorite bands. I got the Owl tattoo on my birthday this year and i just love the coloring of the tree bark. Enjoy! Everyones Ive seen so far are amazing!
