3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Punch Needle on: January 03, 2008 01:22:57 PM
I just did one of those today! I got a kit at Michael's and was suprised when it didn't come with the needle I needed. Michael's has them, and so does Joanne's Fabric, if you have those. It was $3 or something if I remember. Have fun!

I didn't know you could mix oils and watercolors, but then again I'm not really an artist, I'm a crafter. Your paintings are beautiful though.

your watercolors are amazing. a girl I worked with over the summer made watercolors seem like a piece of cake, and I just never got the hang of it. but yours are really well done.
6  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Anthropologie Dress "Lay of the Land" on: December 20, 2007 06:54:39 PM
I found this dress (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=73615&navAction=jump&search=true ) on Anthropologie, but I wasn't about to pay $300 for it. So I sketched out my own and made it for $40 instead. I absolutely love the way it turned out, I almost cried when I was fitting it because it looked so much like the real dress. Oh, and I used Simplicity pattern 3676 as a base but I altered it so much I don't even have the original pieces anymore.

My sketch:

Sorry about the lighting:

Detail of the bodice:

So I'm thrilled about wearing it to upcoming Christmas parties. Let me know what you think!
Thanks!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Cropped Cardi, Like Juliet on: December 20, 2007 06:32:35 PM
It looks so well made! I think I saw something like that in the Lion's Brand Yarn catalog today. There don't seem to be any pulls at all!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Last minute gift, beer cozies! on: December 20, 2007 06:30:32 PM
I can imagine my friends using pastel colored cozies back at college. It makes me want to make them some! I'm not very good at adding on stitches, but I might have to try them for my sister too.
