1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: $ Store Dead Fairy Halloween decorations (with pics) on: September 08, 2009 07:31:31 AM
those are awesome!!! I think they would look cool if you added red gem stones to the eyes and maybe glitter to the wings. I like sparkles lol.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: first attempts at resin! on: September 07, 2009 09:23:44 AM
for the lace one, I put the red lady (button) in first. then just laid the lace on the back of the resin and pushed it in very slightly so it was also covered in resin. It makes a nice back drop and fun to use! I'll put up more today probably of my second and third trys with resin.

4  COOKING / Dessert / Doll cake on: September 06, 2009 02:40:46 PM
so this one of my first cakes ever besides the usual box cakes. It is gluten free as gluten and I are NOT friends! Smiley
Rolling out the fondant was hard because I do not have a rolling pin, so I used a Saki jar lol. I will get better with practice I'm sure, it is quite fun and tastey!

Have a great day!

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Dresser Recon! from bare to BLUE! (image obease!) on: July 20, 2009 07:18:33 AM
thanks everyone! I think it's the prettiest blue I ever did see. The gal at the paint store was very excited to mix it. She said she usually just deals with beige! Smiley

I sanded everything down, then painted it with Beur paint using a sponge/foam brush. (makes for a smoother finish). Then I stenciled with stencil cream and sealed the whole thing with clear sealant (about 6 coats).

have a good day!
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dresser Recon! from bare to BLUE! (image obease!) on: July 19, 2009 04:35:58 PM

finished product

this is how this sad dresser started it's life.

during it's makeover

Close up of detail work

took me total of three trips to the store, once for paint, once for stencils then once more for food! took me about 6 hours to complete and billions of coats of blue paint.
Thanks for looking!
