And I decided to make myself a notebook out of an old cereal box, cute paper, and random quotes and pictures.

I also made this one earlier this year. I just took a textbook, gutted it, covered it in green fabric and then put striped paper on the front and back covers. Then I cut butterflies out of some other paper I had and decoupaged them on.  Grin

22  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Japanese Beetles? on: June 29, 2009 08:58:15 PM
Okay, we are having a Japanese beetle problem. They are all over the asters and the rose of Sharon bushes in our garden, and I was wondering how else to get rid of them. My mum tried spraying her bushes with a spray made with mouthwash, soap, and tobacco juice, but it doesn't seem to be working. She doesn't want to buy the chemical that kills them because she doesn't want to kill the birds or butterflies. We aren't sure what else to do. Right now we are going outside twice a day and knocking them into containers of soapy water. I was wondering if anyone else here was having issues with them. They seem to be really bad.
23  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old Readers' Digest Book=My New Journal <3 on: June 22, 2009 12:31:50 AM
So I made this cool book over the weekend. I began with an old Readers' Digest book and gutted it. Then I spent the majority of the weekend splatterpainting the pages. It took quite a while but it looks so amazing. <3

24  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Look what I did in Photoshop! on: May 08, 2009 10:51:41 PM
This was a picture of some black eyed susans I edited on Photobucket.  Cheesy

25  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / So, I made my folders for school look awesome. on: August 17, 2008 10:06:19 AM
I made my school folders look cool this year. I drew sunflower pictures and glued them on with Mod Podge. Then I took clear heavy duty packing tape and taped them up so they would last longer. Enjoy! Cheesy

All three of them together.

26  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Soup can to cute pencil holder. on: July 03, 2008 03:43:20 PM
I made this adorable pencil holder from a steel soup can. All I did was spray paint it gold and then glue cute trim on it. Sorry the picture is sideways...too fat.
Tongue Darn Photobucket and their silliness.. Wink

Okay, after like 75 tries, the picture is finally acceptable.. Wink
27  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Dutch oven cooking? on: June 09, 2008 01:54:02 PM
Who here has cooked with Dutch ovens before and has recipes they don't mind sharing? Wink We have some recipes but not too many. Thanks in advance!
28  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Just a vent. on: June 03, 2008 11:21:05 AM
I was at school yesterday and some of the people who are in our Work Study program tore the pages out of a bunch of old books from the library. So I tried to get the teacher to let me take the empty covers that weren't torn in two pieces. They didn't let me have them-they threw them out. I asked why and I got the excuse that they 'had to be destroyed'. They recycled the pages, though. I was really mad because I could have made sketchbooks with them. I also asked which teacher said the covers had to be destroyed, and I did not get an answer. I don't get why they can't just donate the books to a school who needs them. I wonder if there is any way I can get the school to give me stuff like that? Who else has this problem?
29  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / This is a bit overdone, but.. on: May 17, 2008 11:09:25 AM
This is just the basic old book to new journal recon but it was my very first old book to new journal recon, and I'm pretty proud of it. The cat fabric was left over from pajama pants I made in Home Ec class and the paper is just regular plain old printer paper. I sewed the pages together with a needle and thread. I've long since gotten a bone scorer, a folder, and an awl. Wink Haha. Sorry the picture is blurry too. Tongue

30  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My Awesome Doll! on: May 17, 2008 10:49:02 AM
I made this doll last summer but didn't get around to making her clothes and putting her hair on until earlier this year. Isn't she awesome?  Smiley
