21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Crafty But Stupid: YOUR CRAFT RELATED INJURIES HERE! on: June 28, 2013 02:34:36 PM
Okay, here's my contribution. It involves an Xacto knife, bottlecaps, and me being mentally MIA.

I don't know what possessed me to do this, but a few months ago I wanted to make something awesome with bottlecaps. I had seen online that someone had successfully used an Xacto to remove that pesky liner from their caps. So I went to town with the knife, and it slipped, cutting the middle finger on my right hand. That cut bled like crazy for about 5 minutes! I panicked and then it dawned on me to hold it above my heart and apply pressure to get it to stop. I almost fainted and I had a nasty looking cut for about 2 weeks. Now I have a scar to remind me to be careful in the future.

I still feel ridiculous about that accident.  Tongue

Wow. I haven't been on here in over a year.  Shocked

I'm going to make another poppet soon, and I was wondering, can I make it out of fleece? I have this gorgeous blue fleece in my stash and I was wondering how that would work for a poppet. Thanks.  Smiley

28  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / But great ideas take time! ;) on: October 21, 2011 12:33:38 AM
So. I had this bag of bottlecaps sitting about for goodness knows how long. Last weekend I was listening to my radio show and I got this great idea. I'm currently making a purse that reflects my hippie personality. Why not make buttons for said purse? So I did! Here's one of them! Sorry about the cruddy iPod picture, guys. Wink A tutorial is on the way and so are better pictures!  Cheesy Enjoy!

That's gorgeous! I'm a sucker for gorgeous bags. <3 Do you mind sharing how you made it or which pattern you used? Smiley I have fabric sitting about that would work great with the shape of the bag. Cheesy
