1  Shopping Cart Cover in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by Juaniece on: February 27, 2009 06:46:56 AM
My DIL wanted a handmade shopping cart cover in HER colors for the May baby arriving soon!  I adapted a pattern and arrived at this number.  Added pockets and toys.  I don't a have baby to try it out, but looks like it will work on some shopping carts.  Can't wait to try it out on my own little granddaughter!!

Works on HEB grocery carts!

Thanks for looking! Mimi! (not grandma!)

2  Re: Gift Ideas for a new mom (long backstory, simple question) in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by Juaniece on: January 04, 2009 09:44:45 PM
I can appreciate your dilemma with gifts and several showers!  My DIL is due this May and seems real excited about the hooded towels...so I made a couple:  (My apologies...don't know how to attach my posting! Do you mind if I include the pics?  I hope I'm not doing something wrong here by posting these! )

I second/third! the idea of a taggie blanket!  My nephew's 8month old loves hers!  I made one for my DIL as well (although I have to make another one, because this one is not in "her colors" !)

I also second/third the idea of a shopping cart cover...my DIL is excited that I am making her one as well!  I have a pre-quilted fabric which should be fairly easy.

She was also real excited to hear that I will be crafting her a changing pad (station type item!) with a pouch attached for diapers and wipees.

I also made a crib toy pocket/organizer, since her nursery bedding set did not have this item as an option.

I also made several "boppy" pillow covers and several covers for her "contoured changing pad" (foam) which sits on top of her diaper changing dresser.

Good luck on your endeavors!  Please let us know what you end up doing!

3  Fit for babies or for tots?! in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by Juaniece on: December 16, 2008 05:07:55 AM
I will be a new Mimi (grandmother!) in May (Yippee!) and trying to remember what items the baby needs!  Seems to me that hooded towels can come in handy, right?  So, I tried my hand at making a few.  The first was obviously sized for a toddler or older (no pics yet!) and the second and third MIGHT be ok!  (First time posting pics, I'm technology challenged and my apologies if I goof it!)

Couldn't resist ears on the hoodie! Ears are so cute!

Here is try #3, with the alma mater of one of the parents!

Couldn't resist ears on this one either!

And I made bath mitts for both of these!

Boy, I hope mom&dad like these! (I'm actually worried about sizing!)
Next, I will make something else that parents need for babies (!what??!)!

Thanks for looking & comments welcome!  (If I goofed on the post, my apologies!)
