21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Wristlet from Button Down Shirt on: June 27, 2009 04:50:46 PM
I made this makeup bag/wristlet from a vintage women's button down shirt. What I loved about it immediately was the great floral embroidery. The bag has the same embroidery on both sides and is lined with the same fabric. The closure is the original button down placket because I am not good with zippers. But it will definitely keep stuff in there!

22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Ruffled Mini Skirts, lots of them :) on: June 18, 2009 01:49:36 PM
I love making these skirts. They take me an hour and the pattern is easy and they fit all sorts of sizes. I am so happy with them! They're all made from vintage thrifted fabrics.

The fabric on this one is called The Painted Desert, which I think is the most romantic name ever.

Made from a thrifted sheet.

This fabric is called Canterbury Manor, which I also love. I think fabric-namer is a good career choice.

White linen.

From recycled t shirts.

More vintage fabric.

Thanks!!
23  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pleated Curtain Bag on: June 15, 2009 07:04:51 PM
I am very pleased with how this turned out! I had a great vintage curtain (one single panel of it) that I got at a thrift store and I used the original pleats. So it was really easy! Just a big ol' tote made of this great brocade fabric.

24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Keyboard Rings on: June 03, 2009 05:41:23 PM
I got this vintage computer at a yard sale for a quarter. I pried off the keys and made some rings!

Thanks!

26  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / lots of vintage goodness.. I do mean lots. on: May 27, 2009 01:11:14 PM
I just signed up for my first craft fair so I've been crafting up a storm. Here are a few things I've made lately, mostly vintage materials.

This one is made from a vintage pin, chain, and a lot of fake pearls.

This one has a brass fan charm, a glass bead, a salvaged rose earring, and some great vintage ribbon.

I call this one the Sword and the Spyglass. It has a vintage watch movement.

A vintage earring as a ring..

Some drapey chain and a watch movement

Miracle Elixir necklace... I was reading Wicked.

Thanks for taking a look!

27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hinge+Vintage Rope Chain on: May 22, 2009 10:36:36 PM
I am really pleased with how this came out. I think it is kind of couture, maybe if you stretch that a little Wink

It's a vintage hinge and some fantastic vintage rope chain I've been saving for like a year. I want it's future owner to wear it to a fancy gala or something.

28  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Knob Ring... or the biggest ring known to mankind. on: May 17, 2009 11:37:12 AM
This one is a real whopper. I love big rings, but I've never made them this big.

It's made from a knob that says "oven". It is actually two inches at its longest point. But it's really lightweight and doesn't slip around. I thought it would break really easily but it is actually really strong. Nice surprise!

29  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Light Meters... part 3! on: May 16, 2009 10:00:14 PM
I just can't stop. I love gutting light meters. Quick explanation: those adorable devices for photography that help you find the right exposure. I take them apart and make jewelry. There are two other posts on craftster floating around.

Today's creations!

I call these Photo Donuts.

And this one is moveable! I love it.

30  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Photography Jewelry Part 3 on: April 09, 2009 05:30:55 PM
So I have an addiction..? I do think I am at the end of my camera parts though. But I made this ring out of the windy bit that winds the film of a 35 mm camera. The little door opens up! I am very happy with this one. (I made some necklaces and earrings that are floating around craftster).

Thanks guys!
