I'm also in the very cool camp!  I love it.  I recently bought this book and have eyeballed this pattern many times.  How hard were the circles?  Yours look great - not wonky at all.

Super cute quilt!  It looks like you appliqued all of the animals and flowers...you did a great job.  Thanks for posting!

Nice job!  My roomie grew up in Dallas and is a Baylor alum, but has several nieces and nephews who attended A & M.  Although we're in CA now, snippets of TX (flag, wallhangings, backyard paraphenalia, and even a bottle opener that plays the aggie fight song) are evident everywhere in our house.  You Texans certainly don't suffer from a lack of pride in your state.  Pretty cool.  Smiley
5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: 2007 Completed Costumes Scrapbook! (completed project pictures & links go he on: February 21, 2008 09:31:21 AM
i really looooooooove to make costumes.

a friend of mine had a 'remember the 90s' theme party a few weeks ago. i'm only 22, so i was pretty young for most of the 90s, BUT we all remember that epic movie that sweeped the oscars, right? oh yes, i made a TITANIC themed outfit.

That's funny.  I made that same dress for my daughter when she was about 10.  She had her heart set on being Rose for Halloween so I bought the pattern and material, so sure my mom (who is an excellent seamstress) would help me since I wasn't much of a sewer at the time.  Well, mom was busy and couldn't help so I went at it alone.  It was pretty hilarious, considering I didn't know what I was doing.  It didn't turn out great but it did "resemble" the dress and she did wear it.  Smiley

You did a nice job, btw.

You did a great job on this!  I have a Simply Quilts show saved on my Tivo that demonstrates this technique.  Online it can be found at http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/pac_ctnt_988/text/0,,HGTV_22056_58466,00.html for anyone interested.

I haven't tried it yet but you've inspired me!  Again, super job!

Dang, it appears that link only takes you to HGTV Simply Quilts.  Once there, if you do a search for "scanned fabrics" in the video search box it'll take you to the video.
