So to start off, i dont bake. It never turns out right... always burnt or underdone

But my daughter turned one at the end of October (yes, I do realize its almost the end of January, Im really bad for actually posting the things I do) so I decided to make her a cake

I think it turned out really good, I followed a recipe for chocolate cake I found on Allrecipes (man there are a lot of recipes!) And it didn't burn, and was cooked all the way through

I made two cakes, which between classess and my daughter took me two days. Then I had to ice them. Now going into this, I thought the cake would be the hard part... not the icing. The directions for the frostin seemed easy, but what no one told me was how hard it is to make red frosting! I kept adding more and more red food colouring... not realizing that I needed to add some orange to get it to come out right

So, in the end I gave up. His eyes and nose are frosting I made at home, and his delightfully red fur is store bought Betty Crocker.
Just finished, the one I messed up the icing on I just left, that was the one for her to destroy anyways
