I've been having some sort of weird phenomenon going on in my oven right now. Might be haunted. I put 12 little balls of chocolate chip cookie dough in on a clean cookie sheet, and they come out really dry, and almost spongy (I really can't think of another way to describe it.) This is the second time I've tried to make these cookies in the last 2 months (with the same recipe I've been using for at least 5 years) and they both turned out the same. The first time I assumed I had just over/under measured some ingreadiant, but I quadruple checked all of the ingrediants before I mixed it today, and they still came out weird. I keep thinking maybe the baking soda went bad (does baking soda go bad?) or something is wrong with my oven, maybe the shortening went bad (I don't know if shortening can go bad either), I don't really know.
I could really use some help on this, I'm starting to loose my kitchen cred.
