Really nice bag! I really like the style, not so much an LSU fan either but then again not really into sports at all. Are you also from Louisiana? Just curious b/c I haven't come across anyone else from LA at Craftster. I'm from St. James.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Amy Butler's SWEET LIFE BAGS on sale 45% off... on: March 23, 2010 09:44:53 AM
I know alot of you love her bags as much as I do but can't afford her prices, her sweet life bags are now on sale for about 45% off. The sale prices are still high but more affordable for some of us. Too bad I don't care for any of her sanibel fabric choices Tongue. I've been drooling over it since it first came out. I'll just have to make my own.

5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing and quilting for babies on: January 29, 2010 11:33:39 AM
Those dragon blankets are adorable but I would leave the binkie strap off, but thats my personal preference.  If you keep the length of the strap under 6 inch long it shouldn't be a safety hazard. IF you want to make some type of binkie securing device maybe try this free binkie bib pattern. These are super popular and so easy to make. Binkie Bib..... (you may need to sign up for a free account to access)
http://www.sewforum.com/download/file.php?id=84866 .

Everyone else gave really great advice....not attaching anything that could easily fall off and become a choking hazard, definitely use machine washable/dryable fabrics.  As for types of stitching to use, I don't think it matters, but if its an item that will get alot of wear/play (lets say like a taggie blanket/toy) I will double stitch all seams to make sure its secure.

Here are a few item ideas that almost any parent would use/appreciate:
-Bibs
-Burp cloths
-Receivng blankets/quilts
-Car seat cover (basically a blanket that straps on and infant carseat to sheild baby from the sun (weather)
-Wet bag (to keep wet soiled items contained in the diaper bag)

HTH!

Ahhhhh......the Sanibel bag Kiss. This is my favorite purse style of all time. I've been wanting to make one since the bag debuted. I was really bummed AB never put the actual  pattern up for sale Smiley. I really need to venture away from only using patterns and figure out to how make things myself. Thanks for all the different angel shots, they will come in handy when its time to draw up a pattern. With all those pockets it would make a great diaper bag/purse.  Great job on the bag, I love everything about it!

little me -- I have you  beat, our nearest IKEA is 9-12+ hours away. I have never been to one but I know I would love it! When I checked IKEA online a while back it said fabric was sold INSTORE only Tongue....bummer!

rucniradovi --thanks for the interfacing advice! I think the wrinkles have alot to do with it being a fusible interfacing. I think I might try some stiffer sew in kind next time.

Wow 3 pages of comments, I'm blushing Cool. Thanks for the nice comments everyone!. One of this days I will get around to actually using my skull clutch Tongue.

Everything looks great! I especially love the clutches. A few months ago I wanted to buy a few of keykalous patterns (including this one) but money was kinda tight so I found a free kwik sew pattern and made these......http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=320314.0. They came out cute but I still rather the curvy shape of your clutches.

9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / ISO Strawberry Shortcake Fabric on: September 17, 2009 05:50:13 AM
Does anyone where I can buy this exact SSC print? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=330359513509&Category=28162&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2  .  I checked Joanns, Hancocks, Walmart, Ebay, Etsy and several other online stores. Will check Hobby Lobby this weekend. I need about 1 1/2 - 2 yds of this print in cotton. It has to be readily available b/c I see alot of items on ebay and etsy made with it. If I have too I will try emailing one of the sellers to see if they would share where the purchased the fabric, I just feel a little nervy doing that Embarrassed.

Any help is apreciated!
