1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Birdy Birdie Sling! on: June 08, 2009 05:54:55 PM
Thanks for all the comments. I agree, Sewingmommy, I wish they weren't so expensive as well. If it helps at all, they are printed on a nice thick paper (not that awful tissue paper most patterns are printed on), and the instructions were very well written

Just wanted to show you guys a new bag I made from Amy Butler's Birdie Sling pattern...

I used a light pink Joel Dewberry fabric from his "Aviary" line for the outside...

and for the contrast bands and interior panels, I used a coordinating vintage Waverly print in fuschia. I used a chocolate brown fabric with pink roses to make up the pockets. I also added a magnetic snap to the interior, to keep this gigantic purse closed Smiley

I gave it to my mom for her birthday- I think she liked it!

I received from quaggy, my angel, today! Boy, was I spoiled! Warning, pic heavy!
First, you will see my cute tired little duck- flying to bring me my package must have tuckered him out!

Quaggy wrote me a beautiful Thank you note, and also sent some wonderful handmade cards!

Learning that I admire needlepoint, she made me my own personalized box (sorry about the flash):

And, inside the box were all these goodies!
Sewing Notions:

Birdie Fabric (these are just gorgeous!)

and embroidery floss! (She also included a beginner's cross stitch kit, which I could not get a good photo of....)

Also, since she read that I love birds, she got me this adorable notebook and memo pad set...

and these cute magnets! (already on my fridge!)

She also sent some Texan candy and a thimble from Texas. (Can't find those photos)
Thank you so much quaggy! You really made this swap a positive experience for me! You are the sweetest angel ever  Cheesy
