Welcome back, sweets!
Catpants, your carlos looks a lot like my mack-- and samanthaandlucy is such a sweetheart!
i posted a while back about how samanthaandlucy named one of her necklaces after my kitty (who had just gotten out of the hospital at the time) and then how she just up and GAVE it to me (because she's wonderfully kind and generous).

well, it's even more beautiful in person!  i adore it.  and so does carlos:

 Grin

It's funny how everyone's got pirates on the brain, and I'm no exception--I found this fabulous big skull-and-crossbones-on-handcuff charm to repurpose and HAD to make it into something, which ended up being a keychain. I've never sold a keychain, so I have no idea if people buy them (any other etsians having success?), but if it doesn't move I just might keep it:

Superstitch, I think the journal looks great--it's so colorful and fun!
In another note, I've been prolific lately (Why do I always get all these ideas in my head right before an exam? Hmm...) and made another necklace which I think is hilarious. Please feel free to disagree Smiley

Hilarious cupcake foods! Cute apron, too!
I was supposed to spend a free morning yesterday studying infectious disease, but I had this idea for a frilly flowery lariat necklace and spent the time making this:

It's a big departure from my usual simple jewelry...
I just listed it at http://www.etsy.com/view_item.php?listing_id=266907, any thoughts on pricing, etc? I know the pictures are a little blue, I only was able to take picture sin the early morning light.

So, in a spectacular burst of irresponsibility, I spent the last two hours crafting instead of studying pathology of the female reproductive tract for my exam tomorrow, and came up with three necklaces. I'm looking for some constructive criticism, please--be honest, I can take it!

I think that my longing for a much-needed vacation is going to my head!
Should I stick to my mini food? It seems like I barely sell any non-food jewelry...

Ack! Somehow I missed posting in the gallery in all my busy-bee-ness! Here's the recap of all the awesome stuff the wonderful TALOOLA sent me!
PACKAGE #1:
She sent me an absolutely adorable strawberry print apron.

And an adorable vinyl strawberry mirror--too cute, it's in my purse!

PACKAGE #2:

The goodies are:
-An adorable vegetable knitting needle roll!
-A pair of beautiful wooden #11 knitting needles.
-A giant stitch holder!
-A lovely knitting-themed note.
-Awesome, sturdy tote bag made with retro fabric! Here it is, looking happy and filled with a project already:

-The Knitting Stitch Bible--250 knitting stitches, including intarsia, fair isle, and sequined/beaded knitting. I love that it's got a ring-binding to it so it lays flat and that all of the patterns are charted rather than written out (I'm a visual person, so I much prefer reading from charts), and the patterns are SO cute and fun. I really needed a new sourcebook for patterns and inspiration!

PACKAGE #3:
ADORABLE, GORGEOUS kitty pillow--made out of a vintage-rose-print fabric on one side, and olive corduroy on the back and in a star applique, with the prettiest black carved victorian rose buttons for eyes.
And here she is snuggling with Mack, my kitty:

PACKAGE #4 (REVEAL)

-two skeins of wool yarn in a gorgeous deep teal/blue
-a pair of sweet chicken sewing scissors!
-a lovely reveal letter

Much love to Taloola, rockin' it crafter style in Mexico! THANK YOU!!!
And much love to Hertrigger, organizer and craftress extraordinaire!!!

my goodness! hertrigger, my thoughts are with you in your decision-making process. I hope all goes well *hugs*
in other news, I just had to share: I got a baby rabbit:
(more at my blog)
So far her name is Lady Fluffington but I have to come up with an actual name.
In OTHER EXCITING NEWS,
I KNOW WHO MY SECRET CRAFTER IS! IT WAS....
.
.
the FABULOUS
.
.
.
TALOOLA! (Who hopefully is living it up in Mexico as we speak!)
She did such a good job of sneaking around as my FOC and figuring out gifts that were prefect for me, and I am enjoying her sewing skills daily!
The reveal package:

The weather today was terrible so I couldn't get any good pictures, but she sent me
-two skeins of wool yarn in a gorgeous deep teal/blue (you just have to imagine--delicious! I can't wait to make something of them!
-a pair of sweet chicken sewing scissors!

All that and she sent me a lovely illustrated envelope and letter (check out this oak seedling!):

THANK YOU so much Taloola, you've been an awesome secret craftster--thoughtful, sneaky, and talented as heck! And a big thank you to hertrigger for organizing all this craziness---I bow to your superior multitasking skills!!!

cdogett, I love that your monsters are "decorative"--just a note, though--your shop URL in your signature has a space in it after etsy, which makes the link not work when you cut and paste it. I think your prices look great.

ok, so I can't resist showing off my new necklace:

I pulled these fork and knife charms off something else and baked the breakfast this afternoon. I think it's totally ridiculous but I love it. What do you guys think? I've set the price at $22, does that seem too high?

OMG you guys, I just got the CUTEST THING EVER in the mail!!!
It's a kitty pillow!

Look at how freakin' adorable she is! She's totally gorgeous--made out of a vintage-rose-print fabric on one side, and olive corduroy on the back and in a star applique. (My FOC had made me a knitting needle roll out of the olive corduroy and I'd mentioned it was snuggly enough to sleep with at night and here it is!) I had a cat pillow on my wists but this is MUCH CUTER!!!
And what a beautiful little face, with thr prettiest black carved victorian rose buttons for eyes--here she is, looking longingly out of the window:

And here she is snuggling with Mack, my kitty:

He is sniffing her ear because she woke him up from a nap. I swear, that bed was totally made before Mack touched it. Really.
My FOC said she was stalking me and what a good job she did...every detail was so well thought-out, and the final result is just perfect. THANK YOU SO MUCH SECRET FOC!!! I can't wait to thank you properly, you are just wonderful!

raindrops, that package is gorgeous! we know your foc must be an accomplished knitter, that's for sure. Beautiful work on the tree of gondor! I just got the happy hooker book from DithMer in the crafty stalker swap and I'm a big fan.

In exciting news on my end, I got my package from my "foccer" today, and it's awesome AND perfect for me!!! FOC, my weather has been yucky, so I'm sorry about the pictures not doing justice to your wonderful package. I've been seriously burned-out lately and your thoughtful package made my day! Yay for craftsters!

The goodies are:
-An adorable vegetable knitting needle roll! I LOVE the veggie print to death (I'm food-obsessed, you caught me!) and the olive corduroy that makes up the outside is so snuggly that I could sleep with it at night.
-A pair of beautiful wooden #11 knitting needles.
-A giant stitch holder! Iit's actually JUST what I needed! I only have the little dinky 3" ones and they just AREN'T cutting it! FOC, you're an absolute mind-reader.
-A lovely knitting-themed note. No worries about being late, dear FOCcer, I find myself more and more tardy these days!
-Awesome, sturdy tote bag made with retro fabric that...well...actually reminds me of food too! I love retro geometric prints like that, and it's the perfect size and shape to bring a project out on the town with. Here it is, looking happy and filled with a project already:

-The Knitting Stitch Bible--250 knitting stitches, including intarsia, fair isle, and sequined/beaded knitting. THANK YOU so much for this. Again, it's amazingly JUST what I wanted. I love that it's got a ring-binding to it so it lays flat and that all of the patterns are charted rather than written out (I'm a visual person, so I much prefer reading from charts), and the patterns are SO cute and fun. I really needed a new sourcebook for patterns and inspiration!

Another shot of the whole package:

I'm sorry I've rambled on, but I love everything so much and they were all so well-researched--yay! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU secret FOC, you're the best! I can't wait to find out who you are to thank you! (I have to admit I'm 95% clueless!)
And thanks to hertrigger for organizing, this swap keeps getting better and better. *gets teary-eyed...*
