poor jaws, i knew ye not that well

he died, it got to hot in the window here (115 outside means like 150 through the window)

its cool that you had an outside one, i have never seen that before (i know they grow outside in the wild, i have just never seen it lol)

Awww, poor Jaws!!   Cry

Out here in SC, it's almost the ideal weather to keep fly traps.  I think there are places along the coast (also in NC) that the fly traps grow naturally and are protected Grin

I love them!

Aww, you have a maturing Venus fly trap!  Cheesy

Mine grew like mad out here last summer, went dormant in the winter, but haven't done anything this summer.   Sad

I grew mine outside though, so it's possible that this summer just wasn't humid enough for them.   Anyway, good luck with Jaws!  Fly traps are so much fun!

ETA:  If you pinch the little flower part off, Jaws will grow leaves faster!  Flowering takes a lot of work and energy for these guys!

That is beautiful!

What was your theme?

I had monograms (so the gold lettering), and I'm not sure if I had the Virgin Mary as another theme, or bhean did some wonderful stalking!   Grin

Would it be ok to say "Partner- craft me anything you'd like, it's all for my Christmas birthday!"   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I'm hoping to feel refreshed once this starts.  Have been having some postal/swapping issues the past week.  I'm pooped out.

I received the most amazing tiny thing EVER from bhean!  She really managed to get who I am and make something that I will cherish for years to come!!

Here it is:

And a close up because it's too beautiful not to show:

Now, bhean did this on real vellum (so, that's animal hide, which I think is amazing!!!), and to make it a bazillion times more amazing, the did the gold detail with 23 carat gold leaf!!   Shocked Shocked

I tried to get a picture of it with the sunlight showing through, but of course the clouds rolled in before I could do so.

At any rate, I'm heading off to the big city tomorrow, and I'm going to find the perfect frame to put this in!  Thank you so so so much, bhean, for this!  I'm really in awe over the beauty and tininess of it!

I received a sweet pressie from FlowerWitch yesterday.  I had surgery 3 weeks ago, and was feeling pretty miserable the first couple of weeks post-op.  Three weeks now after surgery, I'm still not feeling that great, and was having a HORRIBLE day when this arrived:

This is right off of my Amazon wishlist, and I'm just so flattered to receive it!  I feel as though I've met the nicest people here on Craftster, and this just really goes to show that there are some genuine people out there in the world!

Thank you so much, FlowerWitch!  You are an absolute angel, and the book really did make my day!  I even tried some French knots today, and they came out beautifully!!   Grin

sounds like a nice swap...  but i think you forgot ARMY, unless that was intentional. i dunno

I know, huh?  Sadness.  Since the Army is the greatest  Wink

Anyway, I was thinking about taking a swapping hiatus, but if this swap comes to fruition, I'm totally in!  My hubbsicle will be deploying soon, so I'll need some crafty military love to get me through.
