I had to tweek the pattern a bit and make something super girlie and fun using my vintage lace stash.



I tea dyed the onsie and created a little ruff with 3 pearl buttons nestled in.



I think every little outfit has to have a matching headband! Same lace as the ruff and a bit of elastic with a linen flower and pearl button.



Now for Hamster to arrive to model it!

I just finished up a little side project. Ahem, ok it was a distraction project from the other larger things I have going right now. Something I could finish in an afternoon!

I have the 12 degree wedge ruler from www.phillipsfiberar t.com and used the newest freebie pattern to make this St. Patrick's inspired flower table topper.



I used 2 colors of green Kona cotton and some vintage cream fabric with clovers all over.



It has a new home for now on my dinning room table holding my little leprechaun friend.

I finished my first quilt on my list! A baby quilt for my little Hamster to be born in May!

My Grandma embroidered this set of blocks probably around the time I was born! They have been safely tucked away in a drawer for all these years, until she brought them out and issued me a challenge. Make something for my very own baby girl (that we call Hamster) that is due in May. I set to work without a pattern and came up with this!


I used bright fun fabrics as that is what I'm drawn to and it looked so great with the vintage embroidery. My wonderful long arm quilter did this custom for me with lots of swirls.


The quilter echoed each embroidered design and then swirled to fill in the rest of the block and continued it in the sashing.


It is backed with a super soft yellow flannel, perfect for snuggling.

I just know this will get to loved to pieces and I wouldn't have it any other way!

I used vintage fabric and buttons from my stash! It should fit 3-6 month size. The bodice is fully lined too!


I altered the pattern slightly. Instead of a zipper I did a small snap at the neck with it open below. Also my skirt isn't as full because I was working with vintage fabric that was an odd shaped piece. I added a pleat in the back for shape as well.


I can't wait to meet the little girl that will wear this dress!

This was a great craftalong and I can't wait for 12 quilts in 2012!

I finished my last quilt for 2011!  A Birthday gift for a special 16 year old! The pattern is called Split Decision. I can't find my copy right now to give credit to the pattern maker.  A very fun quilt to make!



My long arm quilter did a swirly pattern in variegated thread and it looks so wonderful!



Hand bound and backed in a plain Moda marble fabric.
