1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Painting Day of the Dead Kitchen Cabinets? on: January 02, 2009 01:28:21 PM
I have a friend that has recently purchased a home and has done nothing with the interior. Shocked For christmas I agreed to paint his cabinets day of the dead style and I am stumped. can any one give me a jumping off point?
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Corpse Bride garter! on: September 04, 2008 07:48:03 PM
I could NOT find any garter that I liked and would match my red and black theme (my dress is red no white at all) besides the ones they sell at Claire's that say Prom '08! so with the help of Alli_Lucy, I have made some garters of my own! Thanx so much for the inspiration and the know how!

here are both together. I made the black and silver one from my stash and the red and black one from the sash that came with my dress(who wears a sash honestly?) and some old lace.

This is the toss one, it is also my something blue. It has a corpse bride button!

and the red one! I love it!

nine more days!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Fall wedding bouquets! on: August 24, 2008 06:31:14 PM
finally! they are done. I have had to do and re-do the bridesmaids' bouquets because I wasn't satisfied and then we added a "best girl" if you will. so these are the final product. Enjoy!

All together!

just the 'maids.

and the grand finale... mine! wrapped with the ribbon that came with my dress my dress!

It's so close! I'm getting super excited! Only three weeks away!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ruffle butt skirt! on: June 28, 2008 10:07:31 AM
I recently participated as a designer and a model in a Recycled Fashion Show at a local venue. I was hoping to get pretty professional pictures from the photographer but he screwed us and I'm tied of waiting so I took some of my own photos. here is the skirt I am most proud of. Its all recycled, used, previously something else stuff.

Sorry for the blurriness but lemme know what you think!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Black and white Cup cake stand! on: May 16, 2008 12:01:34 PM
okay so I have been seeing the cute cupcake stands around here for ages and I wanted one so bad, but I couldnt find any thing that I liked for the longest time, but then... I was wandering around hobby lobby with my tax refund and no self control and found the perfect ingredients. thankfully everything was 50% off! so three awesome plates, two candle sticks and some e-6000 later I have the perfect cupcake stand!

here it is with some flowers. You can see the candle sticks here

and here it is from the top so you can see the designs on the plates.

I absolutely love it!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Bride's bouquet for fall wedding on: May 16, 2008 11:55:52 AM
here is the other part of my wedding flowers and arguably the most important. My bouquet! Grin

Our colors are "officially" red black and silver, but since my dress is going to be red I thought a bouquet of nothing but red roses would be too much. A little contrast would make it easier to see and since its a fall wedding I think the colors fit.  I feel it might be missing a little something though.... any suggestions?
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / fall wedding bouquets! on: May 15, 2008 05:17:15 PM
I am finally out of school (for a whole week) and got my flowers done! I made these cute pomanders for my bridesmaids. here are the (almost) finished products.

I don't know why this one looks not so round in the picture...

I just need to add a string of beads to hold onto and then viola!

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / fun gifts to "ask" friends to be in my wedding? on: April 10, 2008 01:16:45 PM
I've been bitten by the wedding planning bug again. school needs to be over!

so I was making my bouquets this weekend and realized I had never officially asked anyone to be in my wedding! (neither has my man) we are having three attendants each and we both wanted to make something special to "ask" our friends to be there for us on our big day. since many of our friends live in other towns I would like them to be affordable to mail if we can't hand deliver them (which is still an option) but I'm stumped! I've been looking for hours! nothing seems fun or "us" and I as well as the man wanted to make something together that would be fun for boys and girls. this is the only thing he has expressed interest in other than the honey moon. haha. any suggestions are needed welcome and much appreciated!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / is this too creepy to have in a wedding? on: March 16, 2008 04:05:25 PM

okay so I made this for an art class for a completely different purpose, but once I finished it I couldn't get the candle out like I had originally planned to do. I looked at it for a while and decided I quite like it with the candle in it and then a light bulb went off! its the same colors and theme of my september wedding. red and black and trees! but then I sat and looked some more and wondered if a dead tree was a little too creeps for a wedding... then I got another light bulb. ask crafster! oh and also... where would I put it?
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / craft stash insanity gives way to spring organizing! on: March 15, 2008 02:51:13 PM
