I made these postcards out of bits and scarps that I had lying around. I have no camera so I scaned them wich gives them a "flat" look.

25  Re: Little chunky houses gallery in The Swap Gallery by maria isabel on: December 11, 2008 07:21:10 PM

I finally got my camera back! So here's all the awesome houses in the order as received.
From WYOKrista:
Front

Back

The story behind this house made me cry since I can relate to the fear and pain of not being able to protect our loved ones from everything. Have faith Krista, its the only thing we can really have in this life!

From Squirrelgirl:
Front

Back

I am completely amazed with the art skills , just 2 colors can make some awesome things! Love love love the lavender color and the baby picture!

From Babbetto:
Front

Back

I adore the mixture of text and languages, the fact that the face is in arabic add such mystery to the character!

From qazicat:
Front (Huh)

Back (Huh)

Ok so this SUPER double sided house is simply too much! One side is christmas , and since I am in "christmas spirit mode" its very suiting! The mermaid side made me think about Puerto Rico (my home country) because of two things : beach and rum (bottle). I really love it!

This was an amazing swao and I cant wait for another round!
And I made another chunky house today and I thought I would share:

28  Interior plant gardening kit IMG HEAVY in Completed Projects by maria isabel on: June 08, 2008 04:06:51 PM
Hey folks!
So I took a little canvas tote that had some ad on it and sewed some pockets into it. Its a gift for  friend who has always wanted a garden but since she moves a lot she cant really have one yet. So I thought that having house plants could be the closest to a garden that she can have are interior plants or maybe a little interior garden! So I made a gardening bag with many pockets, some gardening tools, a book on house plants, 3 squirrel figurines for the pots, some planting pots and a

Enough talk, here's the pictures:

I totally understand how you guys feel about your crafts not being apreciated or loved by your partners  Cry It happened in my first swap, she liked art so I made a huge watercolor painting (and original) and even bought an expensive frame. I spent more than 8 hours painting and all she did was post on the thread that she had received and never posted pictures. Ohh and she wrote that the glass frame had broken while her bf carried the box home  Cry She never posted pics or said she liked it  Cry
Really bad experience for a first organized swap  Angry

Here's a pic of the watercolor I made her:

It looked better in real life since this is only a photo of it framed already.

30  Photograph Collage artwork in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by maria isabel on: June 04, 2008 08:50:39 AM
So I had all these pictures of graffiti I had taken for a project, but no use for them now. So I made a collage, cut some pieces out and glued them on some cardboard from a package I received recently. After many hours of arranging and cutting pictures, here's the final product:

and a picture of the back:

Action shot!
