I finally made some progress today! YAY!! I finished one item I really wanted to make for Calabaza! New crochet-technique and I used a supply I never used before... My finger tips are sore now  Undecided but it is AWESOME!! Well I think it is and I hope C. feels the same way!!  Smiley
Started on the other item, but only a little is done. That looks good too.
Working on something for Calabaza today. I'm getting pretty excited about how it's coming together.  Grin

Well, I feel special! Grin

We like it that way  Wink Haha!  Smiley

Procrastinator as I am, I started to crochet ______ because I like to crochet ____, even with sore fingers and painful hands.  Tongue Yeah, I am weird that way  Grin

Oh, my hands hurt because I finished crocheting my poncho!! Yes, about time I did! It took so long, because I ran out of green yarn  Roll Eyes
Now I must take pics and share it with my crafty friends, YOU  Grin

*SNORY*  Y'all and all your pining talk...you sound like a bunch of voodoo priestesses to me Grin...hhhmmm...maybe that's why I don't pin...I'm a type one diabetic and I have to "pin" myself enough anyway Grin

hehehe! I wouldn't like to do that sort of pinning either!

I like Pinterest, but it is also very addicting! I make sure to spend more time crafting than pinning, which isn't as easy as it sounds!
You are not a pinner, but you're still so much fun to craft for!!  Grin

Pinterest can work intimidating too, but as long as you only use Pinterest to get inspired, it is fine by me.  Smiley

Oh, you rock artsycandice!! The octopus is amazing!!  Cheesy

The legs/arms (whatever) are so well done! The fabric you used couldn't be any better!
Oh and the net (not sure about that word either) you used for part of its head is so clever!

May I ask you how you made the eyes?

I hit this rocks!! And I will mention your name in the Craftster-crush thread! You are on my list lady!!  Grin

 Kiss
lol, aww gee. *blush* Thanks!

I started to run out of time and did not end up getting progress shots of the head, which is why this is a legs-only tutorial. The eyes are torn strips of batting, folded in half lengthwise (like bias tape) and rolled up like little cinnamon rolls. I stitched back and forth across one side to keep them from unrolling then whip-stitched them to the head

Oh, and the "net" on the side was from a skein of fancy yarn. You know, the kind that comes already looking awesome. I just snipped a short length and stretch it out from side to side then stitched around the edges. Wink

You're welcome!! And thanks for answering my question!

The net you used is still awesome, no matter if it was already the way it is. You used it the right way!

I mentioned your name here!

I got a bit too busy with work. New class, different age so a lot of what I have to learn them is new to me. Not really new of course, but teaching this age is!  Cheesy
Last year I teached 6/7 years old and now I teach 8,9,10 years old! Waaaaayyy different, but lots of fun!! I didn't expect the fun-part but I must admit it really is lots of fun!  Cheesy

Onto the crafty news, I started a ____ for Calabaza and it is about half way done. I am pleased with it!!  Smiley Tomorrow is my stay at home-day and I hope to finish it.
The other item I want to make needs more thinking, trying and google and doodle... In no particular order  Grin

C, I am excited to hear that you are done with crafting for me!!  Cheesy YEAH!!  Grin

Lindy, what a CUTE doggie!!  Smiley
