11  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Heart Shaped Soaps on: January 26, 2008 04:24:06 PM
This is one of my first attempts at soap making (must last attempt was a spectacular disaster - so I put off trying again for a while...)

These are some simple wee soaps for a friends wedding present - the best part is that they are orange scented...mmm...

12  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / NEW ZEALAND / Beading competition on: January 25, 2008 01:07:10 PM
Hey there!

Beadaholic is having a beading competition - seems like they have quite a few catergories and some very nice crafty prizes.

If you're interested have a look at their website:)

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / "deceased" tofu pincushion on: January 21, 2008 10:42:25 AM
I'm a novice knitter - so please be kind - I know there's lots of uber pro's out there! This is my first knitting project in which I mastered Purl - so I'm pretty proud of it.

I got the pattern for the project here -

http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2006/06/15/tofu-for-you/

I thought the tofu was so cute - but then I also have a dark side to me and somehow my tofu's face ended up being dead rather than alive!

I still really like him though:)

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Barbie Charm Bracelet on: January 19, 2008 09:27:49 PM
It is my lovely friend Celia's birthday in a few days and she's a lover of all things pink and "cutie cutie" - so when making her a present I thought to myself "What's more cutie cutie and pink than barbie".

I've made a few Barbie earrings but this is my first attempt at a charm bracelet.

I recently bought a big box of barbie accessories of Trade Me (New Zealands version of E-bay) that's where I got all the "charms" - the chain and findings are all from my local craft store.

Would love to hear your feedback:)

(sorry that my camera cord randomly got in the photo!)

Hello there all Wellingtonian Crafters! My friend Kat and I have been running a raft group for about a year now but due to a variety of reasons a lot of our regulars have moved on and we have decided the group needs some new people:)

The group meets once a fortnight (we are thinking of having the get togethers on Sunday afternoons) everyone brings along there current craft and some food to share:)

If you're interested please e-mail Teresa and Kat on craftyfoxes@hotmail.com.

We are really keen to meet other crafty types in Wellington so if you're keen -we'd love to meet you.

Happy crafting in 2008 everybody:)
16  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Scrabble Necklaces on: December 17, 2007 01:20:19 AM
Well Christmas turned up quicker that I thought it would (as per usual!) and I needed a quick and funky present to give to my grrls.

I had a few random scrabble pieces at home I'd picked up from a second hand store which I knew I could "use for something" and a whole bunch of Jewellery findings so I combined the two and came up with these necklaces for the grrls - they are intial pendants for my good friends Celia, Jess and Ange:)

Hope you like them!

17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Chopstick and Bead Placemats on: December 14, 2007 03:04:24 PM
Recently my friend Ange came home to New Zealand from Australia for her engagement party - I wanted to make her something for her place in Australia that wasn't too heavy to take on the plane.

So after thinking for a while I got hold of some chopstick, beads and some heavy duty cord and created these rainbow style placemats/potholders (you could use them for either really).

Ange seemed really happy with them so I was stoked:)

Thanks for looking at my creation.
