Your bag is beautiful!! I have never understood the price for the Vera Bradley bags. My sister has one with all of the accessories and as I was looking through her catalog I was astounded at what they cost. Wait - let me rephrase that - I was astounded by what people pay for her things when they are easy to make. But I do have to remind myself that not everyone knows how to sew. Poor souls - bless their hearts.
I'm not very good a hand sewing so it is hard to imagine making a purse without a machine so I'm going with a non-sewing idea!
I think I'd make her a beaded bracelet. Since she is stylish, I bet she would love to get a chunky bracelet, or a cute pair of earrings. And beading jewelry is pretty easy to learn if you don't know how.
Have fun and I'm sure she'll love anything you make her.
I bought it at Wal-mart so they might take it back. I've been using it a lot and it has tons of cut marks on it. I don't know if it even should have cut marks though since it is supposed to be self-healing. Did I just get a bad mat maybe??
I've had my cutting mat (Fiskar) for about 2 months and the smell is still horrible. My husband says the smell is like a dead animal. I don't think it is quite that bad, but it's still pretty nasty. I read online a suggestion for washing it down with dish detergent, but that hasn't helped.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions on how to get rid of the smell?
