12  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / garden fence memory quilts on: December 14, 2015 04:15:03 PM
I do a ton of memory quilts. Especially around this time of year. These are for sisters who lost their dad quite young and fairly recently.

I wasn't  sure how the pattern would lend itself to tshirts. But I like the way the shirt fronts break up. It's a slightly arty version of a tshirt quilt.

And the colour change of the  Fences really changes the look of the quilts

Batted with a double thickness of poly. For all the smooshy warmth.
17  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / The Physicists signature quilts on: October 06, 2015 07:46:42 PM
I live in a small town with a big festival theatre. Last fall my son auditioned for a role and while he didn't get the first one. He got the second. I am a very very proud mama of a paid actor kid. As the show got underway he asked if  I could come up with a memory quilt for him and the other day children in the cast.

I contacted the stage manager and we made arrangements. They closed the show this past Saturday and I had him hand out the surprise gifts.

Signed by cast and crew. Personalised to each kid in their select colour. All kiddos involved apparently cried an most of the parents as well.

Close up of the main quote.  bubble  jet set rocks!
18  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Mojito! the quilt of learning and trade on: October 06, 2015 05:08:21 PM
I am an old. I work with the not olds. One afternoon while I was working on some hand work one of the young women i worked with said something about learning something to keep busy with during down time. She said she would teach herself to knit.

We made a deal. A quilt for the pair of tardis mittens. This is my half of th deal. The colour palette sprang to mind an the pattern came to me fully formed.

And I got new mittens.
