1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Newbie needing help with seed bead cuff? on: October 29, 2009 01:04:33 PM
Not new to craft, but new to beading! I absolutely LOVE seed bead cuffs, and would love to give one a go. I have a loom but is this the best way to go?

Are there any great books, or sites that you'd recommend for instructions?? I can't wait to get started!  Cheesy
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Visiting quilt stores while on vacation? on: August 08, 2009 06:52:49 PM
Absolutely! We recently went to New Zealand and I dragged my very patient SO into two stores while I was there! Fabric makes a great souvenir. I got some great batik fabrics which I've made into a top (quilting to come!).
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: First Completed Quilt: Wonderland Charm Pack Quilt on: August 02, 2009 04:34:47 AM
This is fantastic! I LOVE that Wonderland fabric, and am awaiting some I ordered to arrive, I can't wait! I'm not quite sure what I'm going to to with it yet - I just knew I had to have it. Now that I've seen how great it looks in such a simple layout I might have to give it a go. Great quilt!!
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Japanese/Aunt Becs Nine Patch Quilt on: May 07, 2009 02:57:04 AM
Thanks all!

The quilt is a double bed size - I haven't measured it I have to say!!

Professional quilting?  I didn't know this was being done.

By professional quilting, I mean that I put together the top, then paid someone to quilt it with an industrial sized machine.

That's my next challenge - do learn how to use my machine to quilt my own quilt!

I love this - I guess it's all taste, but I love the designs on designs. I love the busy-ness and the colours, but that's what I tend to go for. I'd be THRILLED to get this!
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Japanese/Aunt Becs Nine Patch Quilt on: May 04, 2009 02:38:27 AM
My first finished quilt! I love the Japanese fabrics, but a Liberty one also snuck in. Pieced by me, professionally quilted.

I have since added binding. The backing is the same shot cotton that makes up one of the smallest square patches - the green/blue of this fabric looks great with the tight machine quilting! I'm very excited. It's spurred me on, and I now have three in progress! Woo!
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Pinwheels and Broken Dishes on: April 29, 2009 03:05:15 PM
Would love to see this! I love pinwheels and I'm doing one currently - except that I've counted wrong and now I need more pinwheels! But now I've seen the broken dishes I may alternate them...hmm, so many choices!

I LOVE pinwheels at the moment, and yours is lovely! The colours look great together too - lucky niece!

Very nice, I like the colours, the white looks great with the neutrals.

I love trees, and tree quilts - and this one is both! It's lovely.
