Holy cow!! What a great way to start the gallery. I would have never thought to use macrame techniques for this swap- Brilliant!

I received my hoop from Abbeeroad  and it is amazeballs! I will post photos when I get home tonight.

Oh! I would love to do another fiber swap. I am finally getting back into spinning again, and I would love some fun fiber to play with.
34  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: IYP 29: Summer Swing-along SU closed, SO 9/6 on: August 09, 2016 01:10:34 PM
I am still working on creating the supplies that will be used for Alwaysinmyroom's art piece. However, I did just order the final item I need today, and I cannot wait to pull everything together!

For me it is definitely sewing. I've tried and tried and I cannot use a sewing machine. I tried to make some curtains once and I ended up with a hot mess of curtains that didn't contain a single straight seam and were too short!
36  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Fried Cheese Curds on: July 28, 2016 01:26:13 PM
As a native Wisconsite- I can attest to the fact that cheese curds are nature's most perfect food- especially when beer battered and deep fried. I am sorry your experiment with them didn't turn out.
37  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Stitched Mandala Swap (SU CLOSED, SO 8/15) on: July 27, 2016 11:54:50 AM
I have about 25% of my mandala all stitched up. I am really liking how everything is turning out!

39  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Stumpwork Purple Coneflower on: July 07, 2016 07:40:54 PM
Thanks everyone! It was a little scary when it came time to actually cut out the petals. I needed some encouragement from sheepBlue, but in the end it wasn't that bad!
40  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Stumpwork Purple Coneflower on: July 07, 2016 12:22:40 PM
At the Craftster meetup in Canada a few weeks ago, the amazing sheepBlue gave us a lesson in stumpwork. After my initial badge for the latest felt badge swap ended in epic failure, I decided to try out my newly gained stumpwork skills and create a small purple coneflower for PerfectlyBohemian.

Here is a few in-process photos:

The center was done with french knots with pearl cotton thread over a black felt base- not that you can see the felt...

Then I drew out some petals and began the process of securing the wire to the fabric.

A few split stitches later...

Then I cut the petals out, poked them through the felt base and secured them on the other side. One backing piece of felt later and the piece was done.

Now I have the urge to make everything in stumpwork!!
